Okay,so my mom said she will think about giving me $60 for doing some chores, and I plan on getting Watch_Dogs. I'm not sure which system to get it for though,Xbox One or PC? I know Xbox One has a worse resolution, but my computer isn't that powerful either. Is there reason I should choose one over the other, regardless of specs? I'm going to list my PC specs here.

So which system do you guys think will be better for me?

Also, what settings do you think I would be able to run for Watch_Dogs?

Quick Rundown of my Specs, you can look at the detailed version above :

  • AMD Athlon 630 II Quad-Core Processor
  • 500 GB Hard Drive (I only have 25 GBs left, but I plan on freeing space after finishing some games)
  • ATi Radeon 7750 HD
  • 8 GBs of DDR3 Ram
  • Windows 7 64-Bit

If I should add anything, let me know!

Thanks everyone!

PC is the best platform for games

consoles have in general:

  • worse graphics
  • higher prices for all games

Unless you talk about new games which you just want to check, not return to them in a year. Then consoles are WAYYYYY cheaper.

Buy on release. Win in a day. Sell for $10 less on Ebays.

Why not just rent it?

All I know about gamefly is that they sell Steam-keys.

They send you console games and you play them, and return them. You pay only a certain amount a month to use it.

Okay,so I'll get it for PC if I can,but do you guys think I can run it at at least medium settings?

Comment has been collapsed.

Sure you can! The requierments are never true, it's just a try to show how good the game is and to let people with low graphic card buy a new one for over 200-300 €/$

I don't say it would be bullshit but I do say they never tell the complete truth

Yeah you can. I'm running it on ultra with 50 fps and I have a similar rig as you have

If you're playing on ultra with 50 fps then you have by no means similar rig to his. He probably could play it on medium and low settings with playable fps.

I think that without the latest beta drivers (337.81, not even available for download officially, you need to go to guru3d.com) the game won't support SLI. Not 100% sure about this though, it's what I've read.

I'm sure a 660 can run it on high/medium, since 760 and 660ti will be able to run it on high/ultra according to the developers. Your friend's cpu is probably the cause of the problem.

On the other hand, it is a PC version of an Ubi game, anything is possible.

Oh and have him make sure he either has v-sync turned completely off or have him turn on triple buffering in D3DOverrider, if he is getting exactly 30 fps, both of those solutions should fix the problem.

Well he was also streaming too if that has any effect. The game still looked nice though

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes it does, streaming can be heavy on the cpu, especially if he doesn't own an i7 or a beefy i5.

Someone on WD forums confirmed 60FPS on med with 7560D integrated graphics on his APU, I'm sure somethings wrong with your friend's copy or something. :/

Not sure about that processor, an Athlon 630 is really weak...

I know others said PC, but if you have a Xbone or PS4, I'd get it for that just to be safe. I used to have that processor, and it was terrible for a lot of modern games.

I saw some streams of the game and everyone is praising the game performance, but they are all running it on i7 4770k and gtx780...

One guy was streaming it on xbone and it looked worse than the PC version graphically, but the frame rate seemed to hold up (but it's locked @30 fps on consoles I think)

My advice would be, wait till it's released and then ask us again if you want a real answer.

This. Your pc is quite low end, and if you have an Xbone, you have a dedicated gamingbox in that. The game is more expensive on xbone, but since you probably won't get the money in the next few days, see how the game will run on a system close to yours, and the xbone. These openworld sandbox games often work very well with a controller.

Its not more expensive. Its 60 bucks, just like it is on Steam.

You can get WatchDogs on PC for much less then 60 dollars.....around 30 actually, that's 50 percent less.

If you're willing to trust places like g2a. Personally, I'd rather not be scammed. You can also buy watch dogs for Xbox used a couple weeks later for like $40.

If you uninstall it, you'll get a massive performance boost by freeing up that 13 megabytes of ram.

Kidding aside, if you don't use it, why add extra spyware from toolbars that are constantly running on your system monitoring who knows what, even though you aren't using it?

They aren't constantly running, only when I open IE. I use chrome, with no toolbars.

Well, it was running when you uploaded your specs ...
Just get rid of it, you need every bit of power.
Also, you have some Malware / Adware, google them to get instructions for removal:

searchsettings.exe

Id say PC and id recommend buying it from ebay. NVIDIA has a promo going when u buy a GPU, you get Watch Dogs free so people are selling their codes on ebay for $30-40 so you'll have extra cash :) and if it disappoint then at least you dint pay $60 for it lol

Get it on Xbone, even if your PC can run it, it won't run as well as it will on console. Also, if you already bought the Xbone might as well get something for it.

From what I hear, the Wii U version is ideal. They keep talking like you need a second screen to get the best experience. Since the Wii U is the only system to naturally come with a second screen, that seems like a logical choice.

turn down your graphics a bit and still get a better experience than shitty consoles.

PC = good sales, good graphics, more games, bundles, big sales, cheaper prices, free online, etc.

Consoles = much higher prices, bad sales, not really good graphics(even some APUs or low end gaming PCs outperform consoles), online subscription,

It will probably cost you more buying a gaming PC, also Graphic Cards give free games, but you will end up having much more games on PC than on consoles by spending much less, so in the large you will spend much less on PC than on console. If you like to pay 60$ for each game on console(in case you are lucky and live in NA) if in Europe games cost 80-100$ at normal cost, plus the online subscription and having worse game experience, then go buy consoles. Consoles imo are only valid for exclusive games, but is too expensive to buy them just for some games.

Edit: I see you already had the Xbone, you could buy a gaming PC for the same money, and now be able to play Watch Dogs on Ultra or at least on High.

I heard that the gpu of PS4 has the same performance as AMD 7850(desktop version). So if you have PS4 then playing it on PS4 could be a little better than on your PC since your PC's GPU is 7750. But if I remember correct, PS4 and XB1 versions are $10 higher than pc/xbox360/ps3. And you can find places to get the PC version with lower cost, so, how about PC?
