I'd like to join. I normally play strategy games singleplayer and action games multiplayer, because I play strategy games way too slowly and can't compete in fast-paced, pause-less multiplayer. So a casual multiplayer group sounds like a good solution for that.
I also don't have a working microphone and have a terribly weak voice anyway, so I tend to get yelled at in cooperative games like Guns of Icarus Online or Natural Selection 2 because I can't communicate quickly enough with typing. So hopefully this group could help with that too.

Mostly ones that don't have multiplayer or that I don't want to play multiplayer, like Paradox Dev Studio games and Knights of Honor, the Tropicos and Grand Ages, Patrician 3 and Port Royale 2, Startopia and Evil Genius, Football Manager and Club Manager, Cities: Skylines and SimCity 4, the Democracy and Supreme Ruler series, Industry Giant 2 and Capitalism 2, Railroad Tycoon and Rails Across America, GearCity and Restaurant Empire, The Guild 2 and Cultures, Locomotion and Traffic Giant, Distant Worlds and Star Ruler, Rollercoaster Tycoon and Space Colony, Imperialism and King of Dragon Pass, the UFO and King's Bounty series, and other mostly management, city builder, grand strategy and tactics games.
But I'm assuming you want to know what I want to play online. That would be things like Empire at War, Company of Heroes, Ultimate General Gettysburg, The Total Wars, The Strongholds, Cossacks, Rise of Nations, maybe even Endless Space. Also any MOBAs sort of qualify, as strategy-ish games where underperformance is not tolerated when playing with strangers. And also the aformentioned Guns of Icarus Online and Natural Selection 2 in captian/commander role. Probably others too, I'll have to think about it.
Not a strategy game, but I wouldn't mind replaying Magicka with other people.

Bonjour:)
I don't really have/play the listed games, but I'm usually too shy to ask strangers out of the blue to co-op with me, so maybe we'll have other games that match sometimes!

I like to play by myself not with myself ;)
In any case, I do enjoy a few multiplayer games, even though I often make for good target practice for certain games.
I really like the idea for this community, and would've loved to join, but I unfortunately don't play any of the games listed.
I'll await the updated list in the near future. Thanks

Beat me to it. I'm surprised it took people so long to notice this. I do both btw, but not into online gaming :-p
With that said, if the group ever wants to play UT99, I'll give it a shot. 1999 was about the last time I tried playing online, and I got my ass handed to me. I doubt with age results would be any better, but there's no harm in trying.

I was tempted to make the same joke, but it may have gone down the wrong way no pun intended, so avoided it.
Yeah, things have evolved somewhat in multiplayer. The level system is supposed to separate the experts from those just looking for some fun, but you can't escape getting your ass kicked, or a few trolls in the process.
Some games are less tricky and you can get away with being a noob. :)

Ohai beautiful people!
Are you the kind of person who prefers to play games on their own, BUT sometimes would like to jump the fence and see if the grass is indeed greener on the multiplayer side of the force, but is somewhat too shy to play with strangers and/or have had a bad experience going multiplayer, getting insulted, kicked out, told to git gud or gtfo, resulting in you wanting to belt out Fuck You?
Well, The Shark People is a group for like-minded gamers, people who don’t take themselves seriously, might lack skillz™ but most of all, just want to have a good time with no pressure.
Why The Shark People, you may ask? First of all, I quite like Shark Attack Deathmatch 2, but there are not a lot of people playing so I thought it’d be great to know other nice SteamGifters who want to shoot harpoons at each others and like to eat body parts (while assuming the appearance of a shark, that is. Any other people eating habits is at your own discretion). Also, the name is quite fitting, I think... as sharks are loners too.
Of course, this ain’t a group for Shark Attack enthusiasts only... any coop/multiplayer games go. The idea is to be able to connect with a bunch of people who play for fun, no more, no less.
So far, here are the games people have expressed an interest in playing with other peeps from time to time (more will be added, as suggestions roll in):
I must admit that I have no idea how to manage a group and I don’t know where this will be going... I can’t even promise it’s going to be a super active group. But if you want in, let me know and I’ll send an invite your way. ^^
With that said, I’d rather have people who have never been VAC banned and, I’d prefer if they had also never broken SG’s rules. Well, multiple offenders, to be more precise. I’d rather not have them, as elitist as it may sound. And I’m not even sorry.
Now, it’s GA time for... drum rolls Shark Attack Deathmatch 2!ENDED
I might bump the thread with a giveaway from time to time though. Thanks for your attention,y'all! There are 27 beautiful sharks in the group so far (Jan. 8), I honestly didn't think we would even hit the 25 member mark. That is a pleasant surprise, thanks again. :3
