You Need A Budget free for college students.
YNAB is software to help you manage your finances and as far as I know is one of the best out there. It's also on Steam but I dont think that the key they give is Steam redeemable. **No Steam key
I just sent them my info-proof they need and I ll update the thread when I have news from them.

That's all folks.

[UPDATED 16:08 4/July/2014]

They just answered on my email, providing me a key for the YNAB. Their mail.
It took about three days and it's an easy and hustle free processes to get the key. I sent them only my Academic ID as proof and they didn't asked anything more.
Hope I helped some of you here.

It's really nice. I might send them an email. It will be hard for them as i can only get a proof in my native language.

Same here.I don't know how they will work it out but they say it's for everyone all over the world so... I just sent them a scan of my academic ID. It has some English on it :P
I'll update the thread as soon as I get a reply from them, so keep an eye if you are interested.

They've got employees around the world too, so they might have a native speaker already, or at least have some connections. In any case, they're real people and very down-to-Earth, so it's really easy to actually talk to them. :)

This no, cause it's too expensive for my wallet. But I'm using for almost a year and a half a free expense manager to track my money. Now that they have free license for students I will use it in all seriousness.

Yeah, after the year end the key expires. All you have to do is to resend them an email showing that you still a college student and they will sent you back a key for an other one year.

Can I use YNAB just to track transactions and nothing else, even if they are incomes (+) or expenses (-). It may be too complicated for me as I don't want or use all those categories. I want to be able to add individual transactions, like a spreadsheet to just add/take money from my "budget"

  • Need something like Finance41 but on my computer, not online.

YNAB looks a bit confusing but its not. Plus its not that hard to categorize your spendings. For something simple like that i guess you could find a Spreadsheet Tablet somewhere on the interntetz. Something like those and use them on excel.
