Not even then I bet they would rather there games die than go to Steam again

Not necessarily, EA and Microsoft eventually opted to just sell their games through Steam again despite not shutting down their own stores, so there's a chance Epic someday gets tired of their little war and just brings back (some) of their games to Steam.

Then I'll wait until it's given away fro free on Epic Store.

I´d say its pretty much a "never" as in "Sonic games will never be released on Nintendo consoles".
Unthinkable at the moment, but not impossible in the long run.
But I guess Epic will give it away for free someday, long long before any possible Steam release.

There is also 70 percent discount if you buy from Epic. Epic also gives back 20 percent of the money you spent for purchases until 18th.
I am not good with this kind of math problems.
I think with added 20 percet back, Discount becames 76 percent.
Epic has regional pricing so it might be even a better deal than that or might be worse than Green Man Gaming.

They're doing it weird, but the base game is $14.99 and the Deluxe Upgrade is $6 on Epic right now, but the Deluxe Edition is not on sale as its own item. TLDR: You can buy the Deluxe Edition for $20.99, but you have to do it with the base game and upgrade.

The current version of Alan Wake is exclusive, yeah.
But Remedy has a history of purchasing back their IPs like they did from Microsoft with the first Alan Wake.
If they ever do a Remastered, Enhanced or Director's cut version of Alan Wake 2 which is not covered by the current agreement the game could release on Steam as well.

Yes because it was funded by Epic.
What I mean is, if the contract they have with Epic currently only cover the current iteration of Alan Wake 2, a reworked version potentially could release everywhere. Take Control, base game never released on Steam and it was Epic exclusive, the Ultimate Edition released everywhere.
Anyway, it's just speculation because we don't know what kind of deal they signed with Epic, and it could also include any future iteration of Alan Wake 2.

Epic funded Alan Wake 2. In fact, it's only because of this that Remedy was able to make Alan Wake 2. And as a result of better than expected sales, Remedy is now able to fund their own development of Control 2. Epic factually was Remedy's lifeline and it worked out great for both parties.
There is no reason for Epic to put Alan Wake 2 on Steam just like there is no reason to put Valve owned IPs on Epic, but Control 2 will almost definitely be on both platforms.

no steam no buy
Never stops to amaze me how Valve managed to turn around public opinion from intial uproar to total acceptance.
I took the plunge and bought the de luxe version from GMG (as gold tier customer I paid 18€ and change). After starting my playthrough I still have to find out what's next-gen in this game(playing on Win11, 7800X3D, RTX 4090). While graphics look good they are in no way spectacular and boss fights are not very difficult technically but those opponents are bullet sponges and you may run out of ammo. Level design isn't better or worse than in the original.
Overall I'd say if you're a fan of the franchise and/or Remedy get it. For the rest it's no must buy.

For all its flaws Steam's commitment to having a smooth as possible experience when it comes to installing and playing games without removing any of the advantages of playing games on PC is what originally got me, the only other store actually trying to compete on the user experience front is GOG.
Also Valve is the only company taking Linux seriously, and as someone who every few years gets fed up with Windows and its BS and switches to Linux for a while I really appreciate not having to give up on gaming during those periods.

interesting, for me 74% off is 18,48€ (i'm a gold member too), no idea why the difference is that big lol

Epic Games Store GM Steve Allison said Alan Wake II will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for "a long time," though he did not provide a specific time period for the exclusivity. He didn't say, forever, though.
There's chance for sure tho. :P
Could be free (base at least) soon tho, so I'll wait for winter at least...

Yeah, it's still only for Epic but the game will never appear on Steam. So if you are interested in this great game, the price is a new historic low.
The Deluxe Edition includes both expansions.
Prices will vary, depending on your status at GMG.
