Happy cake day! :) I have pretty much the same experiences as you. SG is also a big part of my day and it's one of my first communities. First one was Tyrant CCG community in Kongregate. I also got suspended once for ref link (didn't know what ref link was as I was not very experienced in such things). And another time by accident when the mod didn't know anyone can add idiotic tags to my imgur pic.

Welcome to my not-so-private cake day party, my fellow Steamgifters!
Today celebrates my second year among you wonderful, funny, generous,
annoying, jackassesand very nice people. It's hard to believe that two years ago I joined this community, never thinking that one day it would be an important part of my daily life (yes, I'm addicted to Steamgifts. I'm not Student123, but I'm addicted too. He just won't admit it, unlike me, hah!).After two years, I learned a lot about mostly anything. It's a little known fact that Steamgifts was the first online community (after Steam, of course) that I really got involved with. It just instantly felt like home, unlike other online communities. I was slightly afraid of posting anything, and at first, I screwed up more than once.
I got suspended for leaking a giveaway, got hated by at least one staff member, and was an annoying little brat at times, even if I tried to behave the best I could. I'm still an annoying scumbag at times, but I'm positive that I was worse back then... So yeah.
Thank you all for being an amazing community. I just can't have enough of Steamgifts, its funny posts, its stupid memes (potato anyone?), and its great giveaway events. Sure, like every online community, Steamgifts has its "poison". But try ignoring it, and this is the best place to casually enjoy talking it other gamers around the world.
