After a lovely first discussion topic, a plethora of replies and opinions, and a little passed time I give you the current giveaways I've got running:

"Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes" for LVL 1+ | https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/RUZs4/metal-gear-solid-v-ground-zeroes

"Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" for LVL 1+ | https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/tqJyJ/metal-gear-solid-v-the-phantom-pain

"Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY" for LVL 1+ | https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/cXRAr/batman-arkham-asylum-game-of-the-year-edition

"F.E.A.R. 3" for LVL 1+ | https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/RoOvt/fear-3

"Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword" for LVL 1+ | https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/mCie7/mount-blade-with-fire-sword

"Killing Floor" for LVL 0+ | https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/xe4ic/killing-floor

"Insurgency" for LVL 0+ | https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/sz37W/insurgency

"Serial Cleaner" for LVL 0+ | https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/SkOoJ/serial-cleaner

I ADORE the Metal Gear franchise as a whole and have spent many an hour on both titles. Killing Floor seems to be super fun overall though I've been playing the second game a ton recently and can hardly remember the first title so.......... eh?

And with that I pose another, much more simple and hopefully less controversial question: Is there a way/what can I do to create more giveaways concurrently? I'm curious and uneducated as to whether or not it's tied to level, which is what I'm assuming. Perhaps it's the amount of confirmed gifts sent? I'm sure this is in a FAQ or something I admit I didn't read up on but I figure it's worth asking while I'm "promoting."

HAPPY GIFTING/RECEIVING!!!~~~

Edit: Answers received, slots acquired! Thank you all!

Nice job with these giveaways! Maybe your blacklist count will come down a little bit. :)

To answer your question (from the FAQ):

Why is there a limit to the number of gifts I'm able to give away?
We limit the number of gifts a user can create for security purposes, and to prevent a new user from potentially posting a large number of invalid gifts to the site. When you create giveaways and your gifts are received, this number will increase. At that time you'll be able to create giveaways with a greater number of copies, and more simultaneous giveaways.

So it's not your level, per se; it's just the number of giveaways you've successfully completed. I believe you can request additional giveaway slots by opening a Support ticket, so you could try that.

And now I have a question for you: is there any point in playing Ground Zeroes if I own both games?

YES YES YES YES YES THERE IS! GZ is a bite sized love baby between a traditional MGS title and MGSV which is arguably less traditional than the prior numeric entries. Much more focused gameplay and interaction potential (for what it is, it's a frickin' demo for the engine and mechanics) leading to a more "complete" feeling experience, despite it being rather short and of course limited in comparison to the final product. (MGSV:TPP)

(Plus, bonus rewards from the GZ save file to TPP including items to develop and staff members.)

I assumed the giveaways were limited to detract from folks posting up heaps of fake giveaways for sure, so thanks for confirming and going beyond into affirming my idea to send in a support ticket requesting such. Good on ya!

If the blacklist stays, so be it, if it is relinquished, then so be it.

Interesting, thanks for the detailed reply! Given that my gaming sessions are pretty short these days, I think a shorter, more focused game might actually work better. And if I can bring stuff with me from GZ to TPP, well that's always cool. (I still remember importing my characters from The Bard's Tale into The Bard's Tale 2 -- that was awesome).

Oh yeah, you get one story mission but get extra missions after completing it that test your abilities and knowledge of the map. Completing the 2 difficulties of each mission with certain ranks unlock new gear for said mission, potentially helping you get that S rank. Which the S ranks as well as rescuing all prisoners/certain enemy units will unlock them as staff members as you complete missions in TPP, as well as development items to help you early game including (off the top of my head) a GZ sneaking suit and gold prosthetic arm.

.Hack is a fairly old at this point manga/anime series that had a run of games on the PS2 and through 4 of them all in the same universe/story line, you could carry your save data from the first all the way to the last... it was incredible in my young, dumb brain. Mass Effect tried to do it as well but you couldn't keep your character from 1 all the way to 3 as the editor was so different? Something like that.

On the same topic, do you think someone who has never played a Metal Gear game and knows nothing about Metal Gear games enjoy this, or is it the kind of game that you need to be a fan of the franchise to "understand" and appreciate it?

Yes, MGSV:GZ is digestible due to it's straight forward story and gameplay, despite the details being referential to the timeline. Metal Gear has always been a little interesting if not eccentric in it's characters and situations, but it's easy to pick up and play mechanically and enjoy for the somewhat off the wall events.

MGS is one of those games that seem super fun but is a time sink. I've seen videos and would play it but... look at that list I have yet to play... we seriously need some kind of time technology to be able to enjoy all these games.

I think you get 1 slot per 3 successfully received giveaways created. And you lose a slot if you delete a giveaway for any reason. Then if you really want to make a long train, asking support can give you slots. It is quite a limiting number at first but after a few cheap bundle giveaways, slots never become a problem again.

You can get into Ground Zeroes pretty easily as it really only has 2 hours worth of "story" and multiple missions on the same, singular map. You can get used to your surroundings as you play per session and build your mechanics as you progress, aiding in future play of The Phantom Pain if you so chose.

Thanks for the info!

I have 12 total keys I'm trying to post up and a rate of +1 per 3 finished just isn't cutting it.
