I'm kinda insured against this, I use two large monitors and I still have two smaller but working ones in the attic.
I can't bring myself to throw away something that works so I keep telling myself that it will be useful one day but so far I haven't had a single flat screen die on me. CRTs yes.

Yeah, i know, i use it all the time, just needed to send an email with an attachment that happened to be on the pc, so i had to log on. So ii logged to enter some GA's.

Once upon a time, I was playing some game, went to the toilet, and when I was back... the screen was black!
In my case though, it was not the monitor that died... I missed the last words of my GPU 'cause I had to take a piss...
