I just hope they reworked the whole interface, especially the factory/cargo ships/fleets management... :/ also, fleet orders... every time I ordered a fleet on patrol in a certain sector they went off the map, away from main trade lanes and warpgates...

"Well for one i think that Rebirth will be the best.".
Please do wait before judging the game. Many times have I seen people writing "This will be the best game in the series!", "This game will be awesome", etc. before its actual release and before any gameplay has been shown.
Many times have I also encountered that the games turned out to be terrible. Take for example Duke Nukem Forever. Before its release many people went "Duke Nukem will finally take back his throne and kick Battlefield and CoD back down! This will be the greatest game on earth", and only to be met by a mediocre game.
I know that I might be going a little off-topic but I believe that people should wait and see before making such huge judgements.
Other than that I am looking forward to try this game out. Having not tried any of the other X games this will be something totally different for me to play.

Every game will be hyped before release :/. Just remember how every new MMORPG is supposed to be the WoW killer

And that is exactly my point :/ Many people overhype games even before they themselves have tried them out! Saying that they are to become the greatest games in the universe. Alas, many of these games turn out to be half-assed and mediocre.
I do not hate the people who overhype games I just feel sad that they do it since they might be dissapointed when their desired game releases.
I myself am not without innocent when it comes to overhyping games before release. I am very excited to play Rome 2 Total War and I do hope that it will be great. I tend to say to myself that the game probably have many rough edges and thereby I will not be too sorely dissapointed when the game releases.

Yea that was the worst part to me of X3 Autopilot leaving coming back to descover 4 hours of work in ruin. My fault for not saving tho.

Lol my high point was it only being $45 on steam. Saving up now.

I love the fact that they reintroduced a 3D cockpit, and also a great one from what i've seen so far.
I kinda like the focus on just one ship, like the first X:BtF; piloting multiple ships is nice too, but in the later games you were a bit detached, every ship seemed just a disposable asset
Not sure about the whole "navigating interior in FPS style"; could be great if well implemented (Rift please!), could be annoying if overused.

I once was a huge fan of the series. Then came X3 the IMHO worst part of the series which was a major disappointment for me due to the removal of many features without adding anything in turn. Since then I am a little more critical and sceptical about the directions EGOSOFT is taking. Terran Conflict was a much better game again though, It's still missing a lot of Features X2 had, but also adding many great new ones.
And the recent decision to support Linux is also much appreciated. Once they release Rebirth for Linux I will certainly get it.

I'm nervous about this one-ship-only thing, as I liked switching between smaller fast ships, cargo freighters and larger corvettes. I guess you'll be able to customize Pride of Albion to resemble any of those roles, but it still doesn't beat the ability to change ship (not talking about drones) mid-battle. Also, my transporter device "emergency eject" script will be useless. (With a press of a button, it transported you to one of your TD-equipped ships within range, selecting the best target ship available. Hmm. Might actually start playing X3 again...)

I love these series, however there is one thing alway alien me,....that is the control.....
I wish they have simple control & layout like in Freelancer

Freelancer absolutely nailed the space combat controls for me. It was the equivalent of mouse + WASD for first person shooters.
Baffles me why so many games since have eschewed this method in favour of some other half-arsed, inferior control technique.

yes, we have so many good example what had been done right, like space 4X is Orion, space RTS is homeworld, .....but why there is nothing done right in the new era
