Hello everyone,

I'm going to try, I think every Sunday, to post links to games that will be released the following week and that I think are interesting and original.

The goal here isn't to put up AAA games, but rather less "popular" ones, so that you can, i hope, discover some nuggets each week.
If I'm lucky enough to received the game from the publisher, I'll add the link to my video to show you a bit of the gameplay.

I can also miss some nice games, so don't hesitate to share the ones that attract you the most ;)

I'm adding a poll to the topic to see if many of you are interested.
Be honest, if it doesn't interest many people, don't let me do this for nothing :)

I hope you enjoy this topic, and I'll start right away with next week's games, to be followed in the replies below.

Have Fun!

As a fan of RPG and music, I must say Stray Gods really did look good. I ended up playing the demo with my sound muted and subtitles though. Man, the music is pretty bad. The story and art are good though.

The music in this kind of title is hyper important so i hope they will work on this

I guess it really comes down to tastes with music but as it is now it feels almost improvised, which is not great.
The game really feels different though which is important. And yeah it felt a little stupid to play it muted but at least it can be played that way too.

You're not alone with that thought. I liked he story and idea, but idk, the music feels around or below what a proper highschool-orchestra can bring together. So little melody and so much "sing-talking", it's shockingly flat. I expected so much more on a game that promoted itself as a musical. After what Supergiant puts out there, and having played Karmaflow, it's a step down.

I guess our expectations were too high but I think their mistakes might have been not to hire someone with experience in writing musicals. Writing songs is one sing but staging a musical is quite another. Some have done both but they're few and far between.

After what Supergiant puts out there, and having played Karmaflow, it's a step down

Oooh I had no idea Karmaflow even existed! Wishlisted like it's hot!

sigh... adding I Am Future to my wishlist.

I really don't need another "farm, craft, cook, survive, and solve the mystery of ___" game, but that art style is just perfect.

EDIT: did not know the "Dynasty" people were making yet another game. Lumberjack, Medieval, Farming... then Pirate, and now feudal Japan. What an interesting "series" that turned out to be.

It was also the graphics that first attracted me to I am Future. They look just perfect :)
I've had Medieval on my wish list for a long time but I haven't taken the plunge because I've got too much backlog like everyone else, but their games look really nice.

I couldn't find the topic I used to see regularly.
It's more or less the same concept that I'd like to put in place, but limiting myself to games that will be arriving very soon, so as to be more up to date, as some games announced very early on never see the light of day.

Hey Fluffster
I'm not very familiar with Jules Verne's work, so I can't tell you whether the game respects the universe.
But I can confirm that I loved it, ifound the voice acting splendid.
I've finished it 100%, 6 hours in and here's my review: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1424600/Verne_The_Shape_of_Fantasy/?curator_clanid=32964596

I was just looking at your gameplay video on YT actually and it definitely has the looks and feel of Verne, not only in the graphics and settings, although obviously yes, the Steampunk submarine setup is right on, but also in the gameplay with a focus on exploration and puzzle, mystery and narrative.
I think it's really cool that a small indie studio in Spain (and Colombia) would tackle Verne in a game. French studios should have done that years ago.

But I can confirm that I loved it, ifound the voice acting splendid.

I couldn't find a page for the game on imdb but from their website, it looks like they worked with great voice talent. I really liked what I heard on YT even though I didn't look too hard because I didn't want to get spoiled.

A sure buy from me. Thanks for pointing it out :)

Have you heard of Return to Mysterious Island?

It's ten years old (not new, sorry, Tucs), but it is based on the Jules Verne novel, The Mysterious Island. Please note, the title makes it sound like a sequel, but it's a sequel to the novel, not to an earlier game.

It's on my wishlist, so I have yet to play it and I can't comment on whether it's good.

Ohh, didn't realize SteamWorld Build is coming out. I'm not particularly interested in the genre, but I enjoyed all the other SteamWorld games and I admire how they expand the franchise into so many genres.

I'm not sure what to make of this -- I'm actually somewhat interested in all 5 games. For someone with my weird taste in games, the odds of that are incredibly low.

As always, thanks for keeping this thread going!
