Nice idea for a thread, but I don't see the Paypal thing working out too well. Maybe simple trades i.e. I got a 4 pack of game x looking to trade one copy for a copy of game z if anyone has and extra. Not everyone has a Paypal so it would be hard to demand money through the one source.

You're right, not everyone has access to Paypal. It sucks that there is no secure platform to do this, but then again it's in Steam's best interest not to make it happen.
Simple trades would be safer but it might be hard to find other games with the exact same pricing...

I'm waiting to see the discounted prices to figure out what would be worth buying in a 4-pack.
Ideally we'd need a secure platform acting as the middle man where you could select the game in a drop down list. Then each person would be able to buy 1/4 slot individually at the discounted price through his preferred payment option. But then again there's always the one douchebag who would use a stolen credit card or would back out of the payment through Paypal or something...

If you are afraid of this and that it's better that you go buy it yourself and avoid all packs and all trades.

maybe you could check steamtrades.com, find there some reputed people who mess with a lot of games and make a deal where one (probably he or she) buys the 4-pack and the other gets a second game by a previously decided trade. then the original buyer still has 2 more copies that will be able to trade safely if he or she is active in trading.
i would not give money to somebody i don't know and can't wait for at his doorsteps.

This is going to be my first summer sale, I understand you can save even more by getting a 4 pack when available.
I'm just wondering if it'd be worth it to use a single thread as a meeting point for everyone interested in buying the same games. Unless there's already an existing site for this?
Also, for those who are used to doing this, what's the best way to avoid getting ripped off? Everyone sends payment to the buyer through Paypal?
