McDonald's restaurants will buy 54,000,000 pounds of fresh apples this year. Ten years ago, McDonald's purchased 0 pounds of apples. This is attributed to the shift to more healthy menu options (the Apple Pie, which has been at McDonald's for years uses processed Apple Pie Filling).

I didn't "miss" the bundle. :P I saw it and decided to skip it.
But yes, I know that game hadn't been bundled before. But I apparently bought it on steam sale.

I didn't even see what's in it, but because it's $0.50, I'll probably end up getting it.

They're really going crazy with those 0.50$ bundles lately.
For 0.50$ I might as well get it, missing one that I want and the rest will surely make someone happy:)

I am not much interested in those games (maybe except for the Drakensang?) but if it's for the MSF, $0.50 is really nothing. I'm getting it just for that. Thanks Rachel, for this additional info, I haven't checked that earlier.

Very good value for money. I'd like City of Fools, but probably won't buy since it's not a wishlist game. Trying to save whatever little money I can before Summer Sales. :)

Sawdust with starch.

Surprisingly they actually contain apples... and some sweet filling of sorts. Though it's more a deep fried turnover than a pie, despite its name. I think they stopped frying them now and instead baking em, which caused them to be not as nice. :/

Didn't they stop frying 'em around the time they got a rash of lawsuits because people couldn't read the warning on them about them being bloody hot?

Permalink

Their official announcement reasons were "for health reasons" but wouldn't be surprised if it's as you say. Bloody idiots and their lawsuits ruining things for the rest of us. :/

OK, so then what does this poll comment mean:

"Ten years ago, McDonald's purchased 0 pounds of apples."

Then where were the apples for the pies coming from?

Permalink

See my response.

The recent increase in apple-buying is a result of apple slices being in the Kids' Meals.

For 36p? Digital copy of Drakensang (which I almost reinstalled from disk yesterday...)? Eh, may as well :D

Bought bundle, took Drakensang, gave the rest to a friend.

P.S. (Although there was supposedly a time when potatoes were supposedly used in the pies, that was supposedly changed when labeling became mandatory. No evidence of such a thing exists. Snopes says "they use apples," and (in the last 46 years) I've never had a Mickey-D's apple pie that didn't have apples in it.)

these .50 cent bundles have some decent games in them, picked it up for the one I didn't own.. gave the rest away, because .50 cent, not even worth my time trying to trade them away
