simple solution: contact users directly through Steam. ask for a re-roll if you can't get in touch with them within a week.

that's also one of the reasons most users put a CV of at least $0.01 on their giveaways, so they can be sure the winner knows how SG works.

just add $30.01 CV and this problem will vanish ;)

$X.XX minimum CV giveaways is good to avoid those people who don't understand how the site works

In my case, at least, it is the doubt about whether the key you have stored away is still working, or if you messed up and activated it already and ended up making a giveaway for it.

As if CV has anything to do with that... >_>

I'd go too with "contact them" but I assume you did... if they already took the game, too late for a reroll... if not, you know what to do ^^

BTW I always send keys through Steam, because the e-mail can go to spam and all... Plus, I wait for the game to be noted as received before I close the chat, so if anything goes wrong, I can screen the chat windows as proof I delivered the gift...

Worse is when someone wins one of your giveaways and never plays the game, despite them claiming "OMG BEEN WANTING THIS GAME FOREVERZ"

Kinda killed the giveaway mood for me permanently :/

+1 I did that for a game :/ I feel very bad for it ... from gameplays and screens it looked really good, but there was a lot of things videos and images didn't show, so in the end i don't like the game :( I wish i could give it back or to someone else who wants it :x

I played a couple of my wins in offline mode and the time played never updated. That might be one possibility, however unlikely.

I have too many unplayed wins, though I can blame datacaps as one of the reasons though.

That's why I always add winners on steam.

Yeah I know how you feel. The guy's added the game on Steam - he's even sent me an email back thanking me and I've tried contacting him several times since then but got no reply.

That's what tends to happen when you make public GAs with no CV requirement, some people just register, enter random GAs, then they just leave and forget about the site.

open a ticket, prove that you send the gift, and mods will mark it as received.

No, they then need to see if the person actually has activated the gift.

Some people go through all those channels and the receiver STILL refuses to do things properly. In my case, I emailed and added the dude on steam, and explained to him numerous times how the site worked and that he had to click the "gift received" button but to no avail.

Contacted support right after the 7 days wait; it's been over 6 months now.

I contact through Steam, haven't had any problems yet. Had some delays (one was about 2 weeks) with the person activating the game but it happened in the end so it's fine.
Quite a few of the games I've given away have gone unplayed though. It's a shame, as they're not great AAA games but they're still good. That said it took me a while to start playing the ones I've won.

Hum... Sweezy Gunner... Isn't that one of those "Greenlight to get it free" games? The ones you're supposed to activate to your own account? :P

Also been in bundles. I have a key in my SteamTrades topic for that reason.
