EDIT: Looks like deal is over, may have been a price mistake... Glad that some were able to get it...

EDIT 2: Looks like it is available again!! Or maybe a different server? Try it quick!

EDIT 3: "Currently unavailable" once again. Not sure if it will come back or not at this price...

EDIT 4: It's back again, I guess keep refreshing and you may get lucky...

EDIT 5: Looks like even when it comes back and you put it in your cart, it then says not available, so looks like it is really is over. Congrats to those who got it!

It's so nice when you buy a game on release [even if you can't play it because your pc is broken] just because you are interested in it and want to support the devs but a month later it's free somewhere...

FWIW, it seems to be a price error and not some kind of promo by the dev.

This seems like it may have been a glitch, not a giveaway. Even if it was a giveaway, it was an extremely limited deal (couple hours live, tops).

I wouldn't get angry at the developers over this or start regretting your support.

I didn't meat that. But it does seem that if you wait just a little bit you can get any game for free or at an extremely low price. Kinda makes you wonder what's the point because it feels like we value the game and hard work more than the dev himself [specially when they put their games on a cheap bundle or give it away for free soon after the release].

The gaming industry has always been this way. You pay a premium to play a game soon after it comes out. If you are willing to wait, you can usually get the game at a discounted price.

It's similar with premium TV and movies. You want to watch the latest episode of GoT or see the latest movies so that you can talk about them with your friends and not risk having plot points spoiled before you get a chance to watch it.

You can instead wait a few months and check-out the Blu-Ray/DVD from the library for free.

When you consider that, worst case, a random entertaining game will cost $0.25 per hour, full price purchases are only in the rarest case anything value for money anyway. All they do is support the devs (and give you early access to a specific title), which grabbing the game for free does not.

When this happens to kickstarted titles, it sprinkles that tiny extra bit of salt onto things~

that tiny extra bit of salt

Compared to the less-tiny bit of salt that comes when, as a Kickstarter backer, you still haven't received either of the DRM-free download link or the Steam key that you were promised, or a response to your e-mail on the topic (I just sent a new one)- and here random people are getting it for free.

Geesh. 🙄

Oh wow, ouch. :/

I think in this case, piracy may be your way forwards. They have your money but didn't provide the product. You won't get a steam key but you will at least be able to play the game you bought.

My previous e-mail was through an account not associated with my KS, I'm thinking it may have just gotten spam-filtered or something (even though, y'know, they already responded to an e-mail from that address some months ago). So, gonna wait to see if it clears up after this next one. My previous interaction was quite negative- I pointed out one animation transition element that was difficult for brain-damaged users (and thus possibly for certain epileptic individuals and the like as well) to handle, and his response was a pretty straightforward "None of the beta players have complained, so it's clearly not an issue, so we won't look into it. Just accept what we give you".

I sincerely applaud the fact that he made sure to fill his beta players with individuals who have visual and cognitive impairments, though. I mean.. that was the implication there, right? ..right?

Given how intensely I supported the game during KS, that kinda bit. Still, I'm loathe to move to considering this a negative investment until I've given it adequate chance to redeem itself (through delivery and final graphical elements in gameplay both).

Pity, though. Was really looking forward to it. Not, y'know, at Life is Strange level (and that pre-order did really feel worth it in the end), but enough to give it the strong support I gave it during its KS. Well, not like I've really had time to play it this past month anyway, so in the long run I may still be able to slide this situation beneath notice once I do get the game and it meets or exceeds my expectations. /hopeful

This whole free glitch thing, though- I know price glitches are Amazon's shtick, but eeeeegh.
..of course, if I hadn't been a backer, and I'd come across this, I'd have had to be severely grumpy over missing out on a copy.
So I guess this wasn't going to work out well for me either way.
..well, y'know, with the exception of them having sent out the game correctly from the start. >.>

Isn't it better to use the Kickstarter message system than emails?

They said to use e-mail instead, so I didn't think of that option past that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Heh. Apparently there was a sign-up on the backing that let me put in an e-mail other than my KS one, and instead of using my general e-mail, I used my gaming one and it filtered the message. Guess I forgot to check that one for that, before.

I've asked them for word on the DRM-free copy, but it looks like I have a key now. :)
.. a key that SG is now treating as a 0CV game, apparently, so there's still that. :P
