I'm wanting to get into more games like Diablo or path of Exile, in the terms of their loot system and such.
Finding legendary items and so on.

I have Diablo 2/3, Path of Exile, since it's free, Van Helsing 1/2 and Torchlight 1/2

However I couldn't get into Diablo 2 (Too old for me), Path of Exile (No idea why) and Van Helsing 1/2 (Too confusing in a way).

Titan Quest doesn't have 2H weapons though. That's outrageous! An RPG without 2H weapons should be illegal!!

Those games are not RPG just H&S...

They are action RPGs.

Nope, just hack & slash. Where is the RP side of those games?

Non-simple Stats, story, which are generally RPG elements, maybe not wRPG specific, but there all the same.

What defines an RPG to you?

Role-Playing defines Role-Playing Game to me.
GTA San Andreas was more of a RPG to me that was Diablo 2 (though I liked both very much). But I'm an ex-WFRP player, purely computer players probably don't understand what I'm trying to say at all ;P

Yeah, so true, all the PnP RPG gamers know that cRPGs have nearly nothing in common with real RPG games. All they took is stats, levels, experience progression etc from Dungeons and Dragons, which might be one of the more popular RPG games, but is not representative in any way of the whole hobby.

Entirely different kinds of playstyles with the same character, possibly with no boundaries on terms of options. Quests that require thinking, some quests that require no violence, or simply the fact that you can solve quests in multiple ways (Talking, stealth, combat). In these hack and shashes you can choose that you hit them with an axe, sword, mace, halberd, ranged weapons or cast something on them. This is not an option. You MUST kill them, and you only can choose the means.
Some of these games have exceptional story and/or world lore, but that still won't make them RPGs. Just a really well done H&S

Fate. Some people are put off by it's art choices though.

Best thing in fate was to fish for items.

IKR! Sometimes I'd spend up to a hour just fishing for items in one spot lol. That feel when you'd fish out very rare piece of gear, priceless!

Yeah Fate games are amazing. Torchlight basically copied Fate and in my opinion didn't come out better. Fate games are much better.

Grim Dawn has a lot of potential. Once it's finished it might end up being an epic game.

+1, good choice. I haven't so much fun looting since D2LoD. If you care for story though, I'd begin with the first part (and it's cheaper to check if you like it, too).

I honestly played only Diablo 1/2 (+LoD), Torchlight and Path of Exile, liked them all even if I don't consider myself a fan of the genre

Try Divine Divinity - it was an attempt to make more of an actual RPG with Diablo-like battle system.

Throne of Darkness was so awesome back in the day. I think you can find it on GOG. There was also Harbinger if you want a sci-fi H&S and you don't mind older games.

It's a good game, but it's a full RPG with in-depth tactics. Even though OP called the genre RPG, according to his mentioned games he's looking for an action-RPG/ Hack and slash

You have pretty much played all the best "Hack & Slash" games you'll find on the PC unless you are looking to play older games, many which were mentioned above. If you have access to the PS2, there are a couple good series to check out, such as the Champions of Norrath series, the Bauldur's Gate: Dark Alliance series (VERY different then the PC RPG series), and the X-Men: Legends series.

A few good PC games though that come to mind.

  • Dungeon Defenders - The game is ALL about finding great new gear, which can be leveled up to make it even stronger. However, it's not your typical Hack & Slash game, since it's mostly mission based as well as half Hack & Slash and half Tower Defense. The game is a blast though if you have others to play the game with.
  • The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot - Another "Free to Play" game that focuses around you finding "epic loot" as said in the game's title. However, it's also not a typical "Hack & Slash" game, since it plays out against other players as well as being half Hack & Slash and half a "Dungeon Keeper" sim (Build your castle, place traps and monsters to defend it). You either defend your castle from invaders or loot other player's castles.
  • Marvel Heroes - A mostly free MMOARPG that will have you running around as Marvel Superheroes, fighting baddies and collecting new gear along the way. I personally never could get into it, but I know plenty who have. If you want to play some of the AAA list heroes though, you can expect to shell out some cash.
  • Marvel: Ultimate Alliance series - Plays out very much like Marvel Heroes, but it's not an MMO. Tons of heroes to choice from, level up, get better and better gear. They play out very much like your typical Hack & Slash game.

Also, checking around online, a few free to play MMOs popped up that claim to play like Path of Exile and Diablo, such as Akaneiro: Demon Hunters, KingsRoad, and Drakensang Online, though I have never played any of those personally.

Hope you find something good to hold you over for a while! Great Hack & Slash games are few and far between!

Played Drakensang 2-3 years ago, was okay but heavy pay 2 win and a pay wall at some point to progress, no idea how it is now, but its still propably quite good to play for some time, as long as you dont expect too much of it.
Also wouldnt recommend The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, similiar issues to Drakensang, heavy pay 2 win and a paywall to progress.

I know its not really similiar, but pretty much anything I could think of was already posted, have you played Alien Swarm?
It has quite nice progression, classes, and killing tons of stuff. Another thing might be Gauntlet (havent played so no idea how it is) and Hammerwatch.
