I wouldn't call any weapon "a fun toy". It kills people just the same. And now you can post your kills ob YouTube. What were they thinking?!

We seem to differ on mentalities. I see guns as nothing but a sometimes-complex tool that can be taken apart, reconfigured, rebuilt, customized... this one in OP is more of a toy than anything since it's overengineered. You don't need 4/5 of the things listed. Hell, auto-aim takes the fun out of aiming, but for novelty purposes it's not bad.
offtopic: I can kill with a plastic fork.

I don't really care who thinks what about guns, and frankly I don't think about them at all. It's the ability to capture your shots on video and post them on YouTube and Facebook that weirded me out.

Maybe, if its sole purpose was for killing people. Not being a hunter myself, I can certainly see the appeal to the hunter crowd for wanting to show off a great shot. Or, in a military setting, maybe it would be used as a way to confirm a kill. Or the streaming feature would be used in a class about use of said gun on a range somewhere. Its not like you HAVE to use every feature something has you know.
"Well, I never use the alt and ctrl keys, so why would anyone else need them?" kind of deal.
If you sit back and actually think about something, lots of things arnt really that weird.

Yes, it can be used for educational purposes, or shot confirmation, or any other legitimate purposes. But that doesn't mean that it will. There are too many deranged individuals that get off on that sort of things.

Unless it has frontal camera that is always on and is always recording only victim will be captured. Suffice it to say that won't help to catch anyone.

You clearly do not understand modern technology. When you upload videos, you are using an account that keeps track of your ip address which does indeed supply an address. Additionally, this will help authorities have an idea of when the killing takes place, where it takes place, and possibly why it took place. Suspects will quickly be made from all of these facts. Any criminal that would badly want to do this to begin with would already be doing it, so the existence of this device is not a bad thing, but rather a good thing for gun enthusiast whom wants to show off their shooting skills at the shooting range or that killer shot during hunting. Contrary to closed minded belief, we do not live in the primitive age where we constantly struggle for survival and guns are made only to kill other humans.

I understand "modern technology" just fine. Everything you mentioned can be bypassed.
Just because someone already does it doesn't mean we should make it easier for them or tempt others to try.
Closed minded gun enthusiast don't understand that we don't live in the primitive age where civilians need guns and that killing animals for fun is just as bad as killing humans.

Killing animals for fun and then using them for food is just as bad as killing humans? What? Oh, and cars kill people more than guns so I suppose people should not be allowed to own cars and rely on public transportation like we are suppose to rely on the police and the military to protect us with their guns. I am not gun enthusiast, but this topic does not impact anything. If criminals ever wanted it, they were able to get a hold of it just like how the kids from the columbine shooting got a hold of weapons when it was illegal for them to get a hold of any firearms. Any criminal that would not only know how to bypass anything internet related is probably smart enough to not desire any technology that records what they are doing to begin with. I don't know about you, but I plan to get away with murder, not create usable evidence for the police. The only people that would desire to show the public what they are doing were already doing it and making something like this does not magically make people think murder is a good idea. We are all adults, you either want to murder or you dont. Being able to record the murder easier is in no shape or form what you need to motivate you to do what you wanted to do.

Who wants to take bets how long it'll be before this becomes a CoD preorder bonus.
Also, over engineered toy that will likely break the first time you drop the damn thing.
Also also why would you integrate voice control into a sniper rifle of all things? Isn't that like adding glowing lights to a ninja costume?

So you can shoot without exposing yourself?

Yeah this was talked about a bit ago, someone made one a year ago(Or concept done at least), was based on Linux, pretty scary world.

Hmm wifi, if someone takes that to the field, how hard would it be to hack the auto tracking so it targets the sniper's allies rather than their enemies. Sure you can't shoot it remotely but if you can't even aim at the target, what's the point? Too advanced is not always a good thing. Things like that should stick with the traditional aim and shoot.
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't think you understand. The shooter is the one who must aim at the target, the rifle will not fire until its locked on the aimed at target. Why would the shooter be aiming at his allies? There is no auto aiming function, just a target lock after the initial sighting.

But if you set the lock differently using your own ipad connected to someone else's scope? He can aim at you, but the scope will refuse to let you take the shot as it as has a different target set.
But I hope they are smart enough to have WPS disabled on a device this expensive...

Why do people get this confused with military grade technology? It is a high-tech PLAYTOY for hunters that want to "master the sport" without doing anything. Look up the other presentation videos on youtube. This thing appeals to the rich people that would actually want to stream a video of their "perfect shot" and then upload it on facebook.
At least that's what I hope. Who needs a sensible human being behind the rifles anyways? Let the machines do the killing like the new remote controlled drones.... This world is turning to shit faster and faster.

So now Sniper Rifles used only for killing people? And people will find ways to kill other people even without guns.
P.S; I watch vsause, all of the 3 channels.

Do you really want a sniper rifle that lets the user update his facebook or check twitter?
