That's cool.
Any chance of migrating the search system to a keyword system rather than string matching?
Or a way of searching for threads containing/using multiple separate strings.

I didn't even knew that steam was still using metascore, I honestly though that the reviews replaced it, maybe I should pay more attention.
Well, thanks for the continuous improvements :)

Apparently the metascore parameter uses the actual scores from metacritic (tested it with https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaways/search?metascore_min=90). On steam NBA 2k17 has 51% rating, but it still shows up in that search because it's rated 90 on metacritic

That's a big difference on scores O_O

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

At least it made it easier to test, since it's not a small margin of error :P

Metacritic deals with a way smaller pool of reviews, and I'm not sure many is concerned about that site than critics and early players.

I remember it being kinda important some years ago but now most people have forgotten about it, and is easy to see why. The problem is that many reviewers play one version of the game and just extrapolate the score to all platforms so it's useless for us the PC crowd and our concerns about shitty ports... and also that many times the scores or even the whole review is BS.

Maybe it was review bombed? It's a sad trend nowadays :/

Looking at the reviews it doesn't seem to be a case of bombimg but rather a big split in the playerbase, many reviews point that the gameplay is good (even great according to some) but other ones point out that the game progresion was screwed by the implementation of microtransactions. It looks like both camps are right this time and the game is both very good and terribly bad at the same time.

Still waiting for the day when I can combine filters in other ways.
Such as being able to view DLC Giveaways for things I already own, plus wishlisted stuff.
Wishlisted + DLC, instead of DLC that's wishlisted which is how it functions now.

I'm probably not explaining it very well, but I hope somebody understands what I am attempting to say.

While the changes are appreciated, what are the chances of getting a UI for the filters?
I realize it's not high priority or anything, but I'm sure it would be appreciated by those who wanted the filters to begin with.

Thanks for the update.

Is there a way to apply more than one filter to a search, or more than one parameter, like with Boolean operators?

By doing it as shown in OP in the "combined examples" section, if that is what you mean?

I used to use "region_restricted" to filter GA for my region only...but now this parameter is not working as what it was...
It will filter out all regional restricted GAs contain my region as one of the regions....
Can we set the parameter to filter out GAs only for a specific region(s)?
Thanks.

I still wish there was implemented search filter on Normal value/Reduced value/No value GAs. (especially Reduced one) It would save a lot of time

Have you added this information to HELP or Search Parameters?

Narrowing games down by score etc is great, however I would love to see filters in terms of tags... Specifically VR since I just recently purchased one and its a little frustrating looking for them :)

Most VR games are found simply because they have VR in the title.
Or you can simply search for VR games on the Steam Store, find one you like, then search for it here if it doesn't have VR in the title.

Most of the games I want don't have VR in the title. I already look out for wishlisted games so I do that method. It's just when I'm browsing SG it seems like a nice way of discovering without having to keep wishlist and syncing

Thank you for the search parameters and the improvements, they've come in handy a number of times. I'm curious if these are intended to be available for searching in the archive section (I realize all the examples are for the givaways section). I tried to use the app parameter there (the archives section) to only get results for a specific game as searching by name in the query box returns multiple games with the exact same name for my use case. Any chance the search parameters could be made available for searching in the archive section? Thanks again!
