Train here behind a little barrier

You can get a game from your wishlist if you are among winners of a tournament held by developers of Eador: Imperium.

The tournament will be until August, 21st. The announcement here or на русском здесь.

I for my part encourage anyone who are fond of turn-based strategies try out either Eador: Genesis. Eador: Masters of the Broken World or the newest Eador: Imperium. Be warned though! The games are quite challenging for starters and a bit overwhleming by number of structures you can build.

Also the latest games may have some technical issues (fortunately for me the latest build is ok). Then you might want to play in windowed fullscreen mode and turn off steam overlay.

Fun facts about Eador: Imperium:

  • it used to be in early access in 2016.
  • launched in january 2017 (i think)
  • in a couple of weeks developers said investors were no longer supporting the project so the team was disbanded (!!!)
  • later in 2017 all of a sudden the game received a bunch of patches and new features and still receiving them quite regularly.
  • August 2017, the tournament which I think is one of the best marketing moves they've done so far.

I remember this developer from offering "Eador: Genesis", promised to be exclusive for pre-purchasing "Eador. Masters of the Broken World" on steam. Promise not kept, "Eador. Genesis" showing up not much later for everyone to purchase.
At least this can't happen this time as no pre-purchase bonus is promised. Also this says nothing about game quality itself (but still)...

Awesome train and a neat tournament for those that have the game. Thanks! More publishers/devs should do tournaments, and have players stream tournaments on Twitch.

Yeah. There are only about 12k copies sold as shown in steamspy so chances someone already owns it are quite low.

P.S. Still not your type of game according to your profile :). Praise the sun!

I like many types of games, including turn-based strategy, but have no time to play them all :)

Never given the eador games a proper go, but always felt they are trying to emulate the early heroes of might and magic games which is cool

Played genesis several times, and the new horizons mod once, but never gotten very far(3 campaigns of around 30 hours each).
Too hard/ time consuming for my abilities. :P

True true :)
My playtime for Eador: Masters is more than 600 hours. And I think i finished the whole campaign only twice.

I did watch a bit of a let's play of someone playing MotBW on overlord difficulty, that did help my play some.
It took him just under 500 episodes spread over a period of 3.5 years.

Epic playthrough :)

I must say they made things easier in Imperium. New heroes overall are better than regular heroes with Guard/Guardian (?) being overpowered as hell. Also new rituals introduced in recent patch allows you (and your opponent) to get lots of gold/powerful armies early in game (good thing this thing is optional).

About those rituals, probably to speed up the shards, since some can take quite some time. With those boosts it would be much faster.
They already sped the game up a bit from genesis to MotBW with more bonuses from completing a shard.
