perhaps we should stock up before valve realises the horrible, horrible mistake theyve made. this is like a rich person accidentally doing something nice for the help... the punishment will be biblical when they realise.

Valve doesn't set prices, publishers do. Valve will give the publishers a template of various price suggestions. A major change like this will certainly have some default new prices for publishers who don't change it themselves.

Valve is a driving force in encouraging prices they want to see, as well as regional restrictions and blocks. Yes, publishers have final say, but it starts with valve and it's recommendations.

... and confirmed. Went to buy Killer is Dead (which shows as $4.99 on the store / in cart) and the price shows as $5.99 at checkout. Tried a few other games, same deal: price increases once you reach the checkout.

Prices do seem to still be moving about, GTA V was like $74.99NZD yesterday and now it's $91.99NZD so should be able to get a nice pretty boxed version cheaper than that, You'd think the steam version should be way cheaper, as it should be

Just got the email from Valve to let me know NZ$ is on the way, from the 24 onward. ****.
Australia likely got them as well at this point.
