Thank you Humble for not taking my money this week.

someone tried if it is possible to buy 2 bundles for $50 protonmail credits on a single protonmail-account?

Thanks, 1 year-subscription for $2 is an excellent deal :D

Cheers Brainkillergr for the chart but this is not a bundle I am interested in.

That one year VPN subscription alone should be worth T3, at least if you use VPN as often as I do and if the VPN itself is okay. A quick check at a review on PCMag also seemed to say that PIA's VPN service is decent. Does anyone happen to know when the latest that subscription can be redeemed? I got already got my needs for VPN covered until the end of the year, but I might pick up the bundle if I don't have to redeem it right away.

Hmm, there usually is some expiry date to redeem those services though. I got that Humble Software bundle with Cyberghost back then and it was like I had to redeem the subscription about one month after the bunle ended or the code would have been void. I definitely wouldn't gamble on trying to redeem it half a year later just because it doesn't mention an expiry. Maybe I'll just send a ticket to Humble to find out.

I've used PIA for two years and highly recommend it. I'm also curious about when I can redeem it, it would save me $75 for the next year.

I use vpn.ac currently. I'm very happy with it. It's fast, safe and I absolutely love their secure proxy browser plugin, which allows me to do VPN related stuff without having to redirect my whole network traffic though the VPN. Most of the time I don't need a full VPN features, I just need an IP that's not my own to check out some website or a quick way to circumvent some geoblock. Do you know if PIA has something similar? Regardless, I might pick up the bundle, because the price is really good for a decent VPN service. I guess I'll just send a ticket to Humble and ask them directly if there's any expiry date on when the service can be redeemed.

I use it primarily to avoid IP tracking and to get around region/country restrictions. It is really easy to turn on or off or switch to a different country. I've never tried doing VPN stuff without redirecting my whole network through a VPN, I'm not sure if it has that feature.

Not many VPNs do have that feature. It depends on whether they offer a proxy plugin for a browser. I only know that VPN.AC and NordVPN has one. I haven't seen it with other services yet, but haven't looked at too many of them closer yet. It's damn useful, e.g. using different county/IPs in different browser instances all at the same time and still having my mail client running directly through my normal network connection without any VPN at all.

I used to use PIA, but bought a lifetime Windscribe subscription for China at around $18. I think I will try to see if PIA works better here.

How is Windscribe working? I saw that one too on Stacksocial when I bought the lifetime to VPN Unlimited, which only works so-so on the desktop. I usually end up using Ultrasurf or even Freegate for best bandwidth though.

I've relied on Windscribe ever since I had some free trial from maybe Humble, and the paid version seems to just open up a larger array of servers. It has only really been janky once or twice--during CCP conferences--but I would not be surprised to find other services with faster speeds. I can stream Youtube things at 720 fine, but 1080 would usually require some buffering. It works on my phone as well but I tend to use TurboVPN to quickly check e-mail or whatever.
I also used PureVPN but I've found it doesn't connect so well. I always have to try multiple servers. Often, I just give up and open up Windscribe.
Speedify used to be fine, but I let my year run out. The Humble VPNs have tended to work fine so I'm still considering PIA.

I used Pure for a couple years here in China, but it was just too unreliable. I might give Windscribe a try too.

Personally I think 48,00β¬ per year is fine for the security + 5 addresses + 1 domain + additional stuff. It definitely isn't cheap, but in my opinion it's reasonable.
About Private Internet Access, I agree that it isn't the most secure VPN provider. There definitely are more secure VPN providers like NordVPN, BolehVPN, and Mullvad.

You must not have seen many of them then. Also that "fear-mongering" is what got you to feel the need to use any VPN at all. But go on paying for US/other 3rd world spy countries VPNs :P
TOR is also slow and blocked at many services because it's used for fraud, trolling etc. So it isn't a reliable alternative at all. I'm actually using it for what it's good, to access .onion sites. Not using any VPN otherwise because I don't need to, but tried Freedome when they gave stackable free months and it worked fine.

Who said anything about ISPs? I'm talking about websites that block access from known anonymous troll sources like open webproxies, TOR etc and that is very much a real thing. So that prevents it from being good for using for everything. Otherwise it's just slow.
I never said anything about the majority of users, but how do you get stats for that? What it's actually needed for is to avoid government firewalls and other oppression, not just hide your porn surfing. Why do you need so badly to be anonymous unless your life is threatened by it or you are doing something illegal? You bought some fear-mongering by some company wanting to sell their product? :P

if it would have been registry mechanic instead of system mechanic i probably would have bought the $1 tier
sad no big named brands are in this, like spybot or malaware bytes, or adaware but those 3 are free anyways, but it would feel interesting to have membership to them

Hmm, I could use the VPN.
I sometimes need it to circumvent a Geoblock so that I can at least watch a few things from my country on the pc.
Not sure about System Mechanic, can't find a clear answer on the net that it is necessary for pc users. I even thought I read somewhere that these programs do more damage than good.
Also if I get the T1 unlock for 1 dollar, can I later spend 15 dollars to get T3?

You can't add 14 dollars later. But yeah you can make a new $15 purchase.
Can't help with your first question, I've never used that system mechanic program. But what you already know seems to be pretty accurate. Does anyone really think they will get up to 300% faster internet speed by using some software? :D
Because that's what they claim...
