Report him at steamrep , and steam Customer support Valve sometimes punishes people for that are you want recieve your key back :/

Um, yea I would think that is pretty common. You should have checked. I'd tell the person "look you won, now be patient I'm busy."

Would be easier to send that chat log to steam admin and say that he did scam you and should have been for someone else. You have the key, so they can easily do a quick check to see what account the key is tied to, no doubt the scammer added it to another steam account he has.

But either way they could help in that regard.

You could contact steam support and tell them you are having trouble activating a key...

Well, both parts are to blame, him for scamming and you for not verifying. Nonetheless, pretty unlucky, I have to say. As others have said, contact support, and have him banned hopefully.
