You should definitely play Dark Souls: Prepared to Die Edition. The game has a bit of a steep learning curve, but I find that it is more rewarding if I succeed after failing a few times. Also, there are always alternate strategies for you to try that involve less death.

I'm saying this based off my experience with Demon souls, its predecessor. Dark Souls is very high on my to-play list, I just haven't had time to play it yet :(...

PS:

• Castle Crashes is really quick and fun to play with friends.
• Borderlands is a great, wacky FPS RPG with a lot of story. Also, being able to play with others is always a plus :3.

Bioshock.
Really solid gameplay and music. That, and a great story.

Play Borderlands. Its a great FPS with RPG elements in it. Its got crazy amounts of guns, interesting characters and is replayable over and over again.

I recommend BioShock (2 as well if you like though it wasn't as great as the first but I enjoyed it). Bioshock has a great story and an amazing atmosphere to go along with it. The game play is pretty great, and a bit varied in the possible ways to play it (eg: Powers only, weapons only, mix of both) Mostly you probably want a mix of both, but it IS possible to just focus on one thing (And you will want to focus on a mix of weapons and powers for certain enemies.). I really enjoyed Bioshock 1 and I reckon you should give it a go! I hope you'll like it too! :D Sorry that was a bit more than 1-2 sentences! :P

I go with Dirt 2 which is the mos fun driver game that I ever played in my life (even with it on my PSN, I bought on Steam to play anywhere on my notebook). Graphis is REALLY something else. Challenging roads. Stunning scenario. AI smart enough to give you the feeling that someone else is playing. Physics is ridiculously real... and... AND inside car camera... It's awesome the feeling that you are really driving.
Seriously, I don't have words enough to describe how good this game is, you habe to take a look by yourself...

Psychonauts
A surreal platforming adventure that is among the few to make me genuinely laugh, leading you through the minds -- quite literally, at times --- of a bizarre cast of improbably powerful psychics. Oh, I should also mention that you play as a circus born-and-raised psychic named Razputin who escaped his home on the back of the world's smallest pony...

Bioshock because it's a classic, almost in a class of its own.
RealMyst for a great trip down memory lane.
Race The Sun, because the need for speed.
Borderlands because Borderlands 2.

La-Mulana
If you can beat it, Indy is small-time compared to you. The game is incredibly difficult, but in different way from Dark Soul, like it was suggested above. It's not for everyone, but if you persevere, you're in for an incredible adventure. The music and boss fights are cool as well.

Borderlands 1 & 2 definitely. They are such amazing games that deserve to be played immeadiately... both are catching, fun and amusing.. you will not regret the choice. Thus I will reccomend to start from the first ofc. Cheers

Still, I recommend 100% orange juice. It's a fun virtual board game that doesn't take it's self to seriously, but will still make you rage.

You should play Super Meat Boy. Now that is a challenge. You want to feel acomplished? Finish that game, I 100% guarantee you'll feel great then you'll wonder what the f*** you're doing with your life.

Psychonauts - it's amazing game with many wonders, great story and setting, very fun and enjoyable! And you get to travel other's mind - that's the definition of cool!

I'm not level 4 yet, how ever the next give away i do soon will make me level 4.
I would recommend Epigenesis, because, it is a really cool idea and even though it doesn't have much of a community it would still be fun to play with friends

Don't really expect the whitelist because I'm not lvl 4 (so about to be though!) but I think you should play realmyst because the whole Myst series is just amazing. Also guacamelee is a fantastic metroidvania game.
