Talk about glitches, I changed my password and it works just fine thru the website, but when I try to log in the launcher it says invalid user/password, and I'm obviously not typing it wrongly, what the actual fuck.

Was a bit worried I'd had to start the week without installing a new launcher. Dodged that bullet...

Joking aside, it's a great game and still looks good when heavily modded.

Just curious, what mods do you recommend, especially for someone playing through the first time?

Permalink

Oh, how I would love to play Morrowind for the first time again.

This list and/or this one would be a fairly good start. Also, take a look at the recommended mods on NexusMods and UESP Wiki.

Oh wow, thanks! <3 The lists have some awesome fixes.

Comment has been collapsed.

No problem. And as skeeper said below, you will have to put in some time to mod it right, but it is absolutely worth it.
The huge amount of mods can be a bit overwhelming at first. Just start with some of the recommended mods of the lists and go from there.

You can do a lot with mods, including better animations, sound and tons more.
It requires some work to do but I think its absolutely worth it.
You can do some research by googling for example "morrowind overhaul".
Also check this list:

If you redeem the code on the site, is there any way to tell that you own the game? I can't find any trace of it, but if I try redeeming the code again it won't let me.

It should appear here but it doesn't. I can't install the launcher right now to confirm but if they don't let us enter the code again then it should be already registered on our accounts.

Yeah, I assume that's the case. I don't intend to play the game straight away and not sure I want to install the launcher just to check. So I'll find out later :)

Such first world problems :D
Galaxy on the list while not even required (by this logic we could throw in literally anything)
Why in their right mind would auto-run all of these? Who would even use all of this on such basis that they need them even downloaded, not to mention run them? o.O
That's like saying that I have 74 games downloaded currently, and sum up their RAM requirements and complain about "games of this age". Just like I can't play and pay attention to 74 games, I can't play on 10 platforms at the same time. Not to mention the extreme redundancy between the platforms. It's not hard to present data in a way that inflates problems ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(it's missing Kartridge btw)

It's just a false objections like those I've heard so many times:

  • Are you so lazy not to install just one more launcher? (Not installing some crap on my PC doesn't make me lazy)
  • Are you so lazy to deinstall your launchers after completing some game? (I don't want use single-use launchers and have some hassle with installing/deinstalling garbage from PC)
  • Do you want to play the game or the launcher? (Yeah, I've always dreamed to play my games in MS DOS interface)
  • Supporting dozens of launchers breaks monopoly of Valve (Valve didn't forced games to be fake "exclusives" on Steam)
    And so on.

In our modern world customer wants maximum comfort for his moneys, but not some beta-testing of unpleasant piece of software.

I don't care about "other false objections", I care about you you not even address my reply that was a reflection of what you posted. Would appreciate if you would do a discussion, instead of throwing an unrelated monologue at me. You know, discussions, things that forums exist for.

If you read my answer, you'll see that your reply is related to items 1/2:
why should user manage, install, deinstall some crapware, which tries to put itself in Autorun everytime it being installed?
It's like having objections when someone wants to eat pizza or purchase a bike and you try to argue with them.

Fuck, accidentally closed the page with my message :( I guess it's a sign that it was a all of text.

To keep it short: HDD space is a non-issue to keep the clients downloaded if someone chooses to do so. The collective RAM usage is way too much for unused clients, but again, running unused clients is simply stupid. Most of the complainers use one, maybe two clients as mains, so why is it trouble to not even download (or if downloaded, not to run) the other clients?

Out of the whole list I have Steam installed. Sometimes Origin and uPlay if I want to play something out of the ~30 games I have them from various freebies and 1 uPlay and 1 Origin bundle. I have games on GOG, Kartridge, Epic, Discord but I think I downloaded Kartridge and Epic once each to see how it is / to claim a game, but then after I realized I can do it online, I just uninstalled it. Will return to it when I want to play the game(s) I own on them. And I say that because weirdly enough, most of the complainers complain about a "new" client, while they usually immediately say that they don't care about it because the game is not on Steam. Are these guys angry at their girlfriends getting pads/tampons , because it's a stupid thing guys don't need/use so why does it exist?

If someone would say that games are hard to track amongst clients, I kind of would agree. But most people don't purchase on many platforms. They just get freebies, then complain that it's hard to remember/access the freebies that they mostly didn't even want.
But RAM usage for clients that are non-essential to even have an account, not to mention have and play games on them on a daily basis, that's ridiculous. How many people need to run all of these daily, to be a real issue? How many of those clients did you use in the past month, or year? Enough to be a daily issue with their RAM usage?

TLDR: Blaming unused, running clients taking up RAM makes as much sense as blaming forks for gaining weight. There is a user who should know what they want, and do accordingly. Also there is a common "complaining thing about I don't use" theme to every single news today. And not even the I don't like it, so I don't use way, but the I don't use it, but fuck if that will stop me teling everyone how shit that is. It's stupid. And it's tiresome when people complain about even free stuff. Take it or leave it, nobody asked about why one won't take a free game for platform X

For a common user, who just installs everything he uses/plays/runs, it's real problem. Managing, deleting, disabling this garbage from Win registry. I'm not talking about PC hardcore pros like me, who delete everything they don't like in Autorun

And how many are there pros compared to amateurs, who just use their PCs? 10%/90%? Or 20/80?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

... man, every single of those clients have an in-client option to be disabled at startup. Generic settings, not even hidden. It's only in your mind that you need registry modification for this.
But not everyone is a "PC hardcore pro" for disabling an autorun, at least it wasn't like that last time I checked ;)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

...well I guess you don't know about hidden autorun processes from you lovely clients that waste your PC even when main exe is disabled... ;-)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I'm impressed it took this much time to start with a seemingly informative picture towards that users can't decide what is good for them to e-penis flinging.
Guess what, I don't know about "hidden autorun processes" and I'm happy like that, because my PC didn't explode yet. Why? Because despite not knowing under the hood things, I have the basic logic of not installing what I don't use. A very, very simple thing that you don't expect from people you ... at this point I'm sure you don't even want to help anyone. But you can't say I didn't give you chances for a discussion, but you can't even keep on topic. I hope you can do something more productive in the rest of the day than complaining about things that doesn't affect you, and patronizing gatekeeping (if being mysterious without any factual to share even counts as that)

Ok, so coming back to my first reply to you

It's just a false objections like those I've heard so many times:

  • Are you so lazy not to install just one more launcher? (Not installing some crap on my PC doesn't make me lazy)
  • Are you so lazy to deinstall your launchers after completing some game? (I don't want use single-use launchers and have some hassle with installing/deinstalling garbage from PC)

  • Supporting dozens of launchers breaks monopoly of Valve (Valve didn't forced games to be fake "exclusives" on Steam)
    And so on.

What we came to after that? Those who don't like installing shit on their PCs are bad?

I don't like "launchers" because I don't like the concept of a DRM that requires a connection (I'm putting "launchers" in quote because we're talking here about stores rather than the "original" kind of launchers, those actual launchers that would be game-specific and pop at game launch with a choice between tweaking settings and running the game, +/- updating it).
But whining about launchers consuming the amount of RAM and disk space they use is ridiculous and shows people forget how insanely RAM- and disk-hungry games themselves have become. "Mummy, I want Valve to have a monopoly because I want to save 500 MiB while I install games that weigh 50GiB each." Yeah, right.
