In Germany we have none of those great games in the Steam Store :( FUCK CENSORSHIP

What is happening in Deutschland today is a direct consequence of Adolf Elizabeth Hitler's action 74 years ago.
Not many people know this but the Fuhrer was descended from a long line of English queens.

Because he's the leftist that censored steam. It's the current leftists that do so ;)

We do have Commander Keen. Which is in my opinion one of the best platformers for PC
and it´s engine was used in the first Duke Nukem Games without which Duke Nukem 3D would have never happened.
Sure, it´s pretty much non-violent, but I like it that way. :)

It's being sold, so no, it's not freeware. You can even buy it from Id's website.

I'm afraid I'm pretty right, pal. You can't legally download games that are still being sold, much less when they are sold by the same publisher that released them.
As you can see here, both CK sets (the Vorticon original trilogy and the later Goodbye, Galaxy set) are still being sold in Id's online store, for $10. That's Keen 1,2,3,4 and 5. Keen 6 is the only one you can legally download, as it is no longer sold.

Keep in mind, 1 and 4 have been distributed for free for a very long time as part of the shareware license. (I don't know if that's still valid today...)

You're right ^^ 1 and 4 were the shareware "demos" for their respective sets.

Just a question I figured I'd drop here since it's related to the topic: Steam wallet funds are really low after the Summer Sale but I want to relive some of these games, so which pack would people recommend out of Doom, Hexen, or Wolfenstein? Bearing in mind I've played at least one of each set (more so of Doom) when I was young.

I'd go for Hexen series. That's in part based on the fantasy settings, part based on the hub-style level layout and the different characters to select. Wolf3d hasn't aged that well in my opinion. Commander Keen was fun (especially 4 & 5), but I literally haven't played them for 15+ years so can't say how they hold up.

I'm interested in some of the cheaper ID games like the Wolf pack, Commander keen and Heratic/Hexan pack. What do you guys recommend out of those? I'm especially interested in the Heratic/Hexan pack!
