What is peoples favourite open world game series(or single game if only 1 was made)?
Pity, cause arguably it blows a lot of the above out the water in terms of being Open World.
Though if you want probably some of the best "open world games" probably could argue Star Wars Galaxies and EvE Online. Just in terms of scale and sandbox.

I must admit that i like every games and series of this list (except thief and divinity wich i ain't play yet)

While some of these series have some awesome games, like borderlands and dark souls, and they happen to be open world, I feel like what make them great isn't their open world, but other features, like the RPG elements and loot system of borderlands and the battle mechanics of dark souls.
IMO, the series that really benefit from the freedom and their great open world elements are GTA, JC and ES :)

Just Cause, but weird though it may be, I'd take the original's world any day over the second. 2 looks light years better, but 1 was something different when it came out. Plus town takeovers are awesome, the "find the hidden stuff" minigame in 2 sucks IMO.
