Picked Vampyr as it is the only game out of the 3 that I played, combat is a little rough around the edges but I really loved it ..the story, getting to know the NPCs more and the consequences of going the bloody way or the peaceful way.

i only played elex but i want to clarify the game's store description:

ELEX is a handcrafted action role-playing experience handcrafted as in "made with sticks and stones" from the award-winning creators of the Gothic series piranha bytes are super cheesy and their games tend to be extra imbalanced, set in a brand new post-apocalyptic Science Fantasy universe welcome to fallout without fallout, that looks like fallout that puts players into a huge seamless game world with enemies every 20 meters full of original characters no one is original, npcs are awful, mutated creatures that can one-shot you, deep moral choices this is the biggest lie in this description... and powerful action powerful once you level up and kill everything in 2 shots (unless you pick melee and live the peasant's life), until that, you're the prey and every enemy can destroy you in 2 seconds.

having said that, the game is fun and i enjoyed it :3

I'd second this. I heard they removed some stat bonuses before release causing the early game to be extremely awful because the endgame was too easy and you were too overpowered.
Right now the early game is like a dark souls wannabe with a really clumsy battle system and you're still totally overpowered in the endgame. ¯\(ツ)

Upgrade your weapon ASAP (ranged) as it makes a big difference jims. I found I had the same issue and once that happens the game becomes much more fun rather than tedious.

I loved and played every Gothic title plus Risen 1 + 2 and I think ELEX is pure shit...

Taking just description above - I think I will like it... But I haven't play it yet, so I can't really judge.
What was so bad about it?
Besides things already mentioned.

ELEX is very clunky though, if you like the original Gothic games then you will like it, if you however like smooth controlling games then maybe skip ELEX as it is very much a Gothic game when it comes to the controls at least (clunky as hell).

Dont lie pls. ELEX is nothing like Gothic. I've played them all.

Pretty close poll!

ELEX has been on my wishlist for a long time. I have Vampyr on Origin (thanks to Origin Access Basic) but have not played it yet. Call of Cthulhu looked pretty good, but just not my thing.

Voted for Vampyr since it's the one (of these three) I will play next.

I think they're all pretty solid, don't think you can really go wrong.

I have only seen ELEX gameplay on Youtube but it looks as clunky as Kingdom Come combat. It's more open-world looting than Vampyr but if I had to pick then Vampyr might have the more interesting plot and slightly smoother combat powers.

So, Vampyr.

Am I the only person that was compelled to check aDAMtWELVE`s profile to make sure there wasn't a hidden giveaway after reading "no giveaway"? I must be paranoid...

Anyway I voted for CoC as I have enjoyed the pen and paper game of the same name and hop it will be equally fun. All though I will say I have yet to end a CoC campaign alive and sane

Well and one more - I dislike adventures, but in spite of this I liked "Call of Cthulhu".

One of the most things that I care about in a game is the theme and the world of the game, and I think I prefer the call of cuthulu which is similar a bit with vampyr world

I heard the least bad things about CoC, so CoC is my pick.

Well, I did never finish Elex (got bored pretty fast) but I did complete Cthulhu and Vampyr.
Both games are decent but Vampyr I enjoyed the most.
Vampyr is more polished, smoother. Ctuhlu just looks.... odd, but I liked the story.

I think I would pick Elec for a more complex RPG world, for adventurers and roaming around. But I plan to play all 3 some time in the future, they are all compelling for me :)

Haven't played any of them, but Vampyr and Call of Cthulhu are on my wishlist so I had to choose between them. At the moment I'm more keen to play Vampyr so that got my vote this time. :P ELEX I hadn't even heard about before and didn't spark my interest now that I looked at it in the store.

Vampyr is kinda repetitive, got boring for me. Try it with game pass first or origin acess, idk.

I played both Cthulhu and Vampyr, I would choose Vampyr for the fighting system. Cthulhu isn't bad but I felt like it laked some action.
Story wise both are good, if you like to do detective's work go for Cthulhu, if you want action choose Vampyr.

Elex was the game I hated the most while I was running away from enemies and avoiding every possible fight. Not sure how I didn't give up. By the end, it became one of the game I loved the most. Great world building and lore, but still game with bunch of issues (too hard at first, too easy later).

Vampyr is easier to get into, fine game, great dialogues and world, but absence of fast traveling make fighting so repetitive (enemies are spawning in the same places every night) so I suggest you to play it on easy just for the story, not for the fighting.

Both games have issues, but both are also great in their own strange ways. I'd go with Elex - if you will like it, you will like it more than Vampyr, if you don't, well... you'll give up and play Vampyr :)

Didn't play Call of Cthulhu yet.

Call of Cthulhu: hide & seek
ELEX: only if you loved the Gothic series (with its limitations and its problems)
Vampyr: it is repetitive, even in the choices
All three are eligible for upcoming bundles.

If I had to buy one, I would choose Elex because it costs less (Piranha Bytes & friends bundle).
If I had to get one as a gift, I would choose Vampyr, because I would play it immediately.
My hatred for hide and seek sessions is greater than my love for Cthulhu.
Your profile is private, so I can't see what you've played to give you direct advice.

ELEX : its a niche game, but its one of the only games i played till the end...awesome RPG feeling. :)

And man i loved the jump and fly mechanic! "Explore everything...feeling."

What do you want? If a gothic like rpg, then definitely Elex. If a visual novel like story then Vampyr or Call of Cthulhu. I played with all the 3 titles. I'm a big Lovecraft/Cthulhu fan, but I think Vampyr is better. Longer, more interesting, more atmospheric than Call of Cthulhu imo.

If you want clunky combat designed by the people that made the Gothic games and the same voice actor for player as many other horrible games, then go for Elex. The only thing I liked about Elex was what little of the story I got to see and the exploration, aside from not being able to beat anything and never being able to equip new gear for 30 levels due to insane requirements for even low level gear.
