Yes it's good to have more competition, as it will be an incentive to improve the stores / the services, and might lower prices, but it's really annoying to manage games with different tools... I end up having the same games multiple times through Steam, Galaxy, Uplay and Origin...

I'll wait and see what kind of pricing and incentives they offer before making a decision about this.
If they offer competitive (or better) pricing, I'll be all for it.
edit: One downfall I can see -- streamers pushing their affiliate links more than some do now.

More competition for steam, and one that has a serious chance of actually putting a dent in them due to Twitch being owned by Amazon! This seems like a good thing to me!

That actually wouldn't be hard to code and would be a nice reminder of what you won recently and haven+t played yet. Provide it with steam folder and it lists the games after comparing to your sg profile wins. It would have to run steam when playing a game, of course, but...

Well this is another way to support any streamer you like, and we don't know how the launcher will be. Uplay and Origins are right now pretty much better than what they were at launch and I don't mind either.
(I don't care what anyone says I will say Origin is better than steam anytime due to one thing, and that is support, they actually have one, you can talk to, by phone, in your local language if so)

As a gaming client, yes, Origin is better than Steam for some time now. At this rate, even GOG Galaxy will be a better client by the end of this year.

As far as I can tell the launcher is the same one they are currently using for Twitch Prime freebies, and not all the games will be on it, for e.g. Ubi games will almost guaranteed be for Uplay itself you get the game by connecting your Twitch and Uplay accounts 😺

As long as it's not as bad as rockstar social club fuck RSC ୧༼ಠ益ಠ༽୨ I don't mind more launchers at all. I do mind the lack of other currencies though. Hope they add more shortly after launching this.
At the end of the day, Steam definitely needs much more competition as the fact that origin/uplay/gog pushed steam to at least try to do something new showed, and a global player like Amazon might be the competitor steam needs.

Isn't Twitch owned by Amazon? So this is really just Amazon using Twtich as another portal to sell games and giving streamers a cut for essentially advertising new games.
