Hello, it's 4:21AM here (Vietnam) and I couldn't sleep because I keep having light headache, and chill in the afternoon. It's been happened for a whole month.
I've gone to the doctor many times (he's also my relatives) and after checking everything (blood pressure, heart rate,....) he couldn't find out what happened to me but he's 90% sure that it's not bacteria or virus or parasite.
He gave me medicine and after I took the medicine I feel much better, he said it help "my blood flow better to my head" >> then he thought I was having stressed from working and studying. But now even I'm having a relaxing Sunday, it happened again.
The reason I wrote it here because I feel connected to this forum and to you guys :D, if you know any of my condition please help me I'd be appreciated.
I'm sure I have a healthy lifestyle (workout, not eating junk food, eat healthy)
I'm sorry for my bad English (don't worry, Vietnamese is not my mother tongue too :P)
Here is a small gib

Actually stress can affect you even when you don't feel it atm, that's what happens to me at least :) But I'd suggest to believe your doctor more than anyone in this forum :)

Yes you are right about the headache thing, but chilling, I'm pretty sure stress can't cause chilling and my doctor confirmed it too xD
Thank you for ur advise, I just want to listen to advises from nice people like you :D

Well then it's almost certainly stress that your subconscious is trying to let you know about, that's what I got told at least. Due to your subconscious not resting, your body doesn't get proper rest and the chills come from that

Better go to an expert, to be honest. Do some blood tests, ask for MRI (or however it's called) on your head, etc. Just don't leave this problem unfixed.

Sounds to me that you are developing chronic migraines.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

This is what I got from the Internet : "Symptoms of migraine can include nausea and/or vomiting, sensitivity to light and sound, and changes in vision, sensations and speech. When you’re living with Chronic Migraine, you’re experiencing those symptoms at least 8 days a month, every month."

  • No nausea/vomitting
  • I'm sensitive to light since I was a child so I think that doesn't count
  • Changes in vision, I think I got that recently, hmmmm....
If these are correct, I'll ask my doctor again
    Thank you so much <3

If you don't have nausea or vomiting, then it's probably not migraine. Migraines can last 4-72 hr. Your vision change can look like the below, but the ring of odd change will spread out from the center of your vision.

If you're correct then migraine is not my problem, cuz my type of vision change is blurring and I can't see anything for a moment especially in early morning, not just a ring of odd in my vision

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Is it when you get up that you cannot see?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes usually that, 1st few minutes when I get up I can't see anything

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That's normal-ish. When you get up the blood flows down from your head and so your brain doesn't get the oxygen/nutrients. It's orthostatic hypotension. You can ask your doctor to measure your blood pressure when you're lying down for several minutes, and then when you get up, have them quickly measure blood pressure.

You're probably tall/thin so that's why it happens :>

I think maybe you should also ask another doctor for a second opinion. Not that you don't trust your current doctor, just for the peace of mind since you're still worried.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I know what your point, but to find a trustworthy doctor here - Vietnam, I'd say it's kind of.....impossible here. In Vietnam, normal doctor may know what happened to you but they'll try to lengthen your time of being ill so they can drain money out of your pocket.
I only go to the hospital, or doctors in Japan, in here I only go to this doctor since he's my relative and I trust him.

Oh, that's terrible. :( Maybe you can ask your relative for a referral for a doctor he also trusts.

I hear playing games is good for that. ;) Though choose your games carefully cause some games can also be stress-inducing. (I see you have Mind Spheres, it's supposedly relaxing.)

And thank you! :) I try to keep my sent more than my won haha. It's totally not just because I don't win anything /cry (lol)

Maybe you need glasses. That leads to frequent and random headaches. It can also be stress, even when you aren't feeling stressed at the moment.

I'm sure it's okay and if you google things like that sometimes they make you more scared then you have to be. I hope your headaches go away.

Hello, it's 4:21AM here (Vietnam) and I couldn't sleep because I keep having light headache, and chill in the afternoon. It's been happened for a whole month.

Can you describe your headache?

Is it on one side of your head, or both sides? How long do they last? On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate the pain? Does the pain change? Like spikes up and down, or is it constant? Have you tried medicines (aspirin, etc) and did it help? Do you know what your physician gave you?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's a little bit on top, a little bit on my forehead.
On a scale of 1-10 I'll rate it 2, normally when I focus on to something I tend to forgot the headache but when I'm resting or trying to sleep the pain come again.
Yes the pain change, like someone poking my head with their finger
I tried aspirin, paracetamol..... didn't work
I don't know what my doctor gave me since he didn't give me any paper that write the name of the medicine, and he's also remove all of the medicine shell, normally I'd be mad but he's my relatives and I'm 100% trust him since he has more than 50 years of experince

Edited: a little bit on top (middle of my head) in case you wondering

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Headaches are tricky, as if you use aspirin, paracetamol, etc too much, then you get headaches from that too! It really sucks :(

When do the headaches start? It could be an issue with the fluid in your head having too much pressure, but you would need a CT/MRI. There's not much we can do online

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I only use aspirin or paracetamol 1 per day, my doctor say the maximum of paracetamol consume per day is 2.
My headache start about a month ago, even before I joined steamgifts
I'll consider a CT/MRI :D, thank you for your listening and advised, you're such a nice person

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I'm not sure of the dosing is different because here people take more than 2. But if you've been using it every day that's not that good. You shouldn't be using it more than two-three days a week -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medication_overuse_headache

I'm curious, but how old are you?

Permalink

I'm 21 years old, don't worry, I've stopped using paracetamol for 2 weeks, I think my big brother is the one who have medication overuse headache.
