good luck at college!
i think that majoring in movie/music is better in terms of future employment. but do whatever you like best. the most important thing is to enjoy your studies and be amazed by all you learn :)

I'm into science stuff.
sadly, all of the arts and humanities are "dangerous" investments. where will we be without writers or painters, or just anything else.
it is just something to think about. the best solution is to combine. like studying History but with emphasis on something modern, lets say army officers can learn history as part of their training...

From stuff on sale right now you could try some Witcher games, Memento Mori 2, Grim fandango Remastered or maybe Life is Strange(from nuuvem)? From non discounted stuff now maybe This War of Mine, The Talos Principle, Transistor, some telltales game, Besiege, Child of Light, Valkyria Chronicles? They're all mid range price wise and in a lot of wishlists.
Anyway those are just some ideas. But good luck with college!

I have a second steam account that was my first account, don't know the name it had or the email it used. That pack was the only thing I bought for it.
After creating this account, that was the first thing I bought. =)

It's not new, but I always see "The Forest" on everyone's wishlist. I don't think it goes on sale very often. (and yea, even on mine)
Savage lands usually gets a good number of entries, and right now in steam store IL-2 is on sale for 50%
There's even some great "cheaper full price" stuff that you rarely see in any give aways. (huniepop, rising world, stranded deep, This War of Mine) Level 1 is even more than generous IMO, as even that is a bit "too easy"
Most of all though, enjoy your college years, great times!

The Forest for sure
Stranded Deep is another one I'd jump straight into if I saw it
This War Of Mine is an awesome game as well, and I reckon anyone would be over the moon to win it...
Speaking of the moon, To The Moon! though there may not be a lot of entries for it, as most people on here seem to own it already
Anything Skyrim or Endless would be great to do as well...
Pineview Drive
One Finger Death Punch
Betrayer
All 3 are personal favourites
And you just can't go past either of the Portal or Half-Life games for crowd-pleasers...

You might want to check the humble bundle store then, they are having spring sale right now from day one I can recommend:
This war of Mine
Enslaved
Ridge racer unbounded
if it is not from this sale, this games would be more popular:
Nuclear Throne
Besiege
Broforce
Crawl
Goat Simulator
Shovel Knight
PS: when i see what you love (History and Music and Film) I somehow imagine a WW musical movie :D

LucasArts Adventure Pack
Witcher Adventure Game
Besiege
Grim Fandango
All are generally around the $10 range. Thanks!
You mention you are going back to school, and that you love gaming and want to CREATE a game with your friends. Assuming you mean a video game, I recommend considering computer science for your studies. Not only will it help meet your goal, but it can give you a decent income so you can pursue hobbies like history, music, and film.

You say it's fairly easy to be level 1, I think it's far too easy. Please ramp up the level requirements a bit, anything below 4 is usually a joke because of the number of entries is ridiculously high even for invite-only (and considering that you'll be giving out GOOD games, even more so); even around level 5-7, odds are barely decent for at-least-five-days giveaways. Of course it's your GA your rules, if you want to have 1000+ entries on everything and only the very luckiest will win anything then go ahead, I'll respectfully pass and either way thanks for being so generous :)

I actually just thought of making it so if the game is $20, it'll be a level 2 giveaway, $30 will be level 3. Of course if the game is on sale, I'm just going to make the level whatever the game's price before the discount. I will always have it level 1 or above though.
I get what you mean though, I think buying an extra copy of whatever game I give out for the people I've whitelisted would help with that though.

Honestly, with you putting this much effort out there, It will be appreciated, no matter the game. I plan on picking a couple up from the sale to give away, and that's probably the way to go for now with limited (Who am I kidding, we're all broke here) funds. I appreciate the effort you're putting into this and wish you the best of luck. As to not be completely dry, here's some things for your entertainment. Epic Rap Battle

So I've been working for about a month now and am going back to college in the summer and as such I got to thinking quite a bit about what I want to do with my life and have come to some conclusions:
So from now on, I'm only giving away the primo shit. No bundle games from Humble or Indie Gala and no weird games that nobody wants.
Here are going to be my rules I'm setting, mostly for myself, when it comes to my giveaways.
With all that in mind,
What game/games should I giveaway?
I'll tally up the games in 23 hours (I have work at 10:30 tomorrow) and post a pie chart or something of what won, at which point I will make the giveaway/giveaways.
Please put the full name of the game you'd like given away in bold first and write any comments or questions beneath it.
Example:
DayZ
Wah Wah Wah. I'm joking of course I am actually interested in what you guys think.
Thank you Thank you!
EDIT: Alright I had to cut the poll a little early but here were the results.
Yes I am aware it looks super shitty but I'm a little in a rush a don't feel like punching in those names and numbers again lol. If I ever do this again I'll have to narrow down the list of games to vote on because there were a whole of 1's and 2's and I just kind of picked from the one's that were on sale at the Humble Bundle until it went up to $30.
Thank you to everyone who gave me well wishes and suggestions! Here are the links! the giveaways go live at 12pm! Good Luck!
Grim Fandango Remastered (C. LVL 1)
Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition (C. LVL 2)
This War of Mine: Humble Deluxe Edition (C. LVL 2)
