If you simple overwrite it with an installer, no user-created data will be lost.
Also, Chrome was the second to offer sync between various computers by storing many of your user info in their cloud system. This usually includes bookmarks, opened tabs, and I think many settings.
But not extensions.

I use Torch browser, synced my bookmarks to my gmail and for passwords i use LastPass. So i never lose my bookmarks, extensions or passwords.

I think if you signed into the program directly with a Google account it saves your data (when I switched computers it kept all my extensions and bookmarks because I signed in). If you were signed in, maybe try signing in to a different PC to see if anything is kept. I'm not entirely sure about opened tabs and settings though.

The question is: can i install new chrome over my last one without loosing my bookmarks, extensions, passwords, etc ?
Chrome just wont lunch anymore for me and i dont know why. In the mornig i had an error message (couldnt find anytging on internet about the error) and now no error message and chrome wont load. its just continous loading page, and even setings page wont show up.
So i figured out i will download new install file and install in the same directory (if i'll find it).
