The difference is, this is actually a Japanese game, for Japanese people that was brought overseas and translated. The cash grabs are from white people in North America or Europe trying to snag some of those "Weeaboo bucks" by making shoddy games that imitate someone elses culture.

On Steam yes, but doujin soft generally does fairly poorly in sales. Like the original Japanese version of Recettear has only sold around 5,000 copies on DLSite whereas the Steam version has over 3,000 reviews and approximately 400,000 owners.
NEKOPARA, which I won't link for obvious reasons, has only about 900 sales on DLSite for its original Japanese version.

I know what people refer it to,but just because you can call it art does not make it art,also just because you call it hentai does not make it any less pornish.Same with just because a game is in first person and has guns does not makes it a FPS

Well i was not offended or anything just sharing what i thought,but really sometimes it is hard to tell when people post a gif if they are trying to make a point or just being funny.

I got Vol 1 after playing the demo and I'm not interested in the H-scenes, I just want some adorable stuff and cats are adorable and catgirls are by extension adorable. I'm actually a little turned off by the H-scenes because, well, that's just not my cup of tea, and in the context of this game I find that it's rather squicky. There are a lot of VN's that I won't play because they're pornographic or too far over the line for me, and honestly I wouldn't have gotten the off Steam version because of the explicit content.
On an unrelated note, there are some VN's that aren't pornographic, such as the wonderful Planetarian, which has almost no sexual content (I don't remember any, but I'm not going to say there isn't any innuendo or anything) and still is an amazing story in a game.
It's sort of like the way that I enjoy some things that are too over the top in content for other reasons; I found Hotline Miami to be way too gory, but I kept playing because the combat was brutal and punishing and I enjoyed the challenge, even if I would have been happier had it been a bit less, you know, psychotic.
