I thought that game was banned everywhere ... or I'm wrong?

its been through quite a lot, give it a read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manhunt_2
tl;dr the console versions are censored and rated mature, allowing sale and being able to be bought in the US in stores
AO games are BASICALLY a ban for consoles, but they were resubmitted, for pc it means you probably wont find a copy on shelves but you can buy it online digitally, though not many places sell it even then.

Different is that java is easier than for example C++, java was not created for games, and specially not for games with nice graphic and randomly generated world etc.
p.s as someone says, java is going away from games on mobile devices so where is sense in making games in java on computer?

c++ was neither created for games...I understand that c++ gives you more control and that the java memory management is different and that some times may not be the best choice but this means nothing, you can still make games in java and also a game does not necessarily needs some high end graphics to be good and the randomly generated part also does not mean anything, maybe you associate generating randomly with loading 3d object in a world but generating random content is not this and using java has not impact on this.
ps: just to be clear, i don't like java too much too(for other reasons) so i'm not trying to defend it in any way to say it better or whatever, I am just writing what I think it's true.

Notch has flat out said that it will NEVER be on Steam, don't know why, he just doesn't like it.

Shinobido. Kick arse series of games from the original development team of Tenchu, and the ability to make custom levels would let it thrive on PC. I already have the PAL released PS2 and PSP games myself, only lack the Vita game since I don't own the system.
Oh, and can't believe I forgot the TimeSplitters series. But only because I miss having people to play against.

No clue. I haven't seen that level, it could even be a custom level.

+1 Imagine how many more ppl would be playing it. I rarely play it cus starting up origin and dealing with it, while not very difficult, is just an extra hurdle that i'm too lazy to jump when i already have a gigantic list of games to play on steam.

Agreed--they want to force everything on origin these days :(

Resident Evil 1-4 and Silent Hill 1-3 are the ones I want most but if I had to chose just one I think I would go with the first Silent Hill

Definitely Red Dead for me as well. I have an Xbox, but I absolutely hate playing any game that uses guns with a controller.

Mine is manhunt 2, an odd choice, ill admit.
Why will it probably never happen? Its rated AO, and im guessing steam cant sell those for whatever reason.
Whats yours? Preferably a game that is already on pc but for one reason or another will never come to steam
