Hello. The last few days, when trying to sell items with a price below 1 euro, steam is asking me to confirm that action through mobile. Is this happening to everyone and since when has this started? Thank you in advance.

as far as i know it only doesnt ask for the first item of the day and only if you place it on the AVG price (if you sell it way under AVG price it should still ask)

Since when does this happen? Also, it keeps asking me for confirmation, no matter the price I'm trying to sell an item.

the thing is you can even sell one item without 2FA nowadays without getting emailed .
i always needed to confirm them all on mobile except the first one of the day .

Did you try to sell something recently?

On main account it only allows 1 item without 2fa, on alt account i can list like 25-30 items without 2fa. Maybe it has to do something with the no. of items in inventory.

I don't have that problem. However ever now and then if I'm putting a lot of things on sale it will ask me to confirm a couple of things but it hasn't down that in ages

Oh but as above reply says it might just be the 1st item and I've ran out of stuff unless I take it off the market

But this is untrue in my occasion. It keeps asking me for a confirmation, no matter the price or if it's the first listing of the day.

I had to confirm trading a voucher yesterday, which seemed really strange.

Trading is different. Did you send it? Then asking for a confirmation is normal. Did you receive it? Then asking for confirmation is abnormal. :P

I sent it yes. It just seems a little weird to bother with a confirmation for a voucher. I find it hard to believe that anyone would try to compromise another persons account for something so trivial in value, especially when they have gifts and rare items worth far more.

it used to allow 1 per day for me without sgma... now it allows about 10 per day. I love it.
I sure hope it's not some bug they revert.

Did you recently try to sell anything?

Yeah, yesterday last. About 10 sales before sgma hit, so I stop, wait 24h and go on. Used to be a single one so definitely a great boon to me.

I think it happens when you put a ton of items up.

I didn't try to sell a ton of items, just a normal amount daily.

When I hit like 25 small items it did it to me a few months back.

Just tried it and it didn't ask for mobile authentication. Maybe you did it from a new device or something?

No, I always use the same device. But thanks for trying.

I sold a card though, IDK maybe there's a difference.

Since Valve's announcement a while ago I felt that I still have to confirm more than 90%. No wonder, if as others pointed out, it only affects the first sale of an item per day. When I sell items, I usually sell them in bulk.

I just tested it: first item for 1/3 cents went though without (after the standard errors "couldn't put it on market" and "you can only continue after your previous action") and for the second (also 1/3 cents) I had to confirm again.

I even have to confirm the first item though. :( But thanks for testing it.

It always did for me, after the 2nd or 3rd item.

I am having a lot of trouble listing items. It stopped asking to confirm anything below a dollar a long time ago and was working fine. Then recently is starting asking again for confirmation on all items.

  • I tried to list a couple cards a few days ago for 5 and 7 cents each and it wanted me to confirm them in the mobile app.
  • I opened the mobile app and those items were not in the confirmation section.
  • I then listed an item for over a dollar and it showed up in the confirmation section of the app, but the 2 cards are still missing.
  • I opened the market and canceled the 2 cheap card listings that were still waiting for confirmation and then I put them up for sale again. They still did not show in the app, so I just canceled the listings.
  • This thread reminded me to sell the cards, so I just tried to list them right now. The first card I listed for 7 cents and it worked without a confirmation. The second card I listed for 5 cents and it asked for a confirmation. I opened the app and the 5 cent card is not on the confirmation page, but it shows in the market as waiting for conformation.

June 2: I cannot get the confirmation page in the app to load. The confirmation page just says loading with the spinning loading symbol on the left and doesn't do anything. I closed and opened the app a couple times and left it open for a few minutes but it doesn't load the confirmation page.

It also says "going online" in the app menu, but never actually connects. Steam guard is working though.

June 6 - It seems to only allow me to list one cheap item without a confirmation and then it want's the confirmation for all additional items. The confirmation page on the app is working now.
