Games similar to Elifoot 98

My dad just completed the building work he was doing at home and with the lockdown he has now a lot of time.
He spends hours playing card games like solitaire, but also play others like zuma and governor of poker, but the main thing for him is Elifoot 98.
He already edited the entire database with the teams strenghts and nowadays players and have a lot of fun with it.

But I woud like to know if anyone can suggest a similar game, but with some new aspects, like watch the match or something.
Please keep in mind that he don't like the complexity of FM games, I tried to play with him a lot of times, but it's just not for him. I also installed the Elifoot 2016 and he tried, but it was also a miss.

I researched some android games that looks to be similar with what I'm asking and I'm willing to try with him in the future, but I don't want to give up just yet.

TLDR: I look for a football simulator with a similar complexity of Elifoot 98, but with a modern layout and maybe the possibility to watch the game.
