So people can't cause trouble by buying a game, farming all cards, and refunding it. Also, maybe, just maybe, they want you to play the game and not have it alt+tabbed (if you're active within the window, cards go much faster)

If the time needed for cards to drop really bothers you so much, why don't you just stop farming cards from games you're not interested in?
Instead of complaining, reconsider if the whooping profit of a few cents is worth your time.

I run Idle Master for those games because I got them from bundles.

Yeah, and we don't see you creating topics to complain about how long it takes (as far as I remember) :)

I've been unhappy about it. I spend more time idling games than I do playing them now. I finish last weeks in time for this weeks bundles.

do you use idlemaster and have the most recent update for it

hmm, thats pretty strange then. it should idle multiple games at the same time up to the 2hr mark and then you should be getting cards from them like normal. it had idled 25games at once for me, then reverted to one game at a time.
i suppose if yours had bugged and just kept idling a multitude of games past the two hour mark it could cause it to be that slow at getting cards. if thats the cause just stopping at restarting it should make it idle the games correctly, i think

The card drop time is set by the devs and not by valve. valve only introduced the 2hr limit and nothing more so if you want to blame then blame the devs for making 3 card drops in 8hours. The devs have every right to change drop times so if you want to complain then ask them to reduce the drop timings

Card drop rates are game specific, 15 mins, 30 mins and 1 hour per card drop. Due to Steam's refund policy, you can't get cards from a game until you have 2 hours in it already.

use SAM to farm cards. but now u cant run more then one game to farm cards, if run more - time ticking, but no cards

Shocking. You actually need to PLAY your games. What has the world come to indeed. Games that need to be played. Not like games are meant to be played instead of getting 20 cents worth of cards, no. It's all about getting those little 20 cents. To get more games to never play but to get more 20 cents. Don't ever play games, ever, just gather those 20 cents. After all, what else would Steam be good for?
Also, yes, this mechanic was introduced deliberately so people actually play games instead of idling forever. I know, it's a travesty that the people who make games actually expect you to play them if you want stuff from them. The bastards, trying to make you enjoy a product.

Dont be so salty. There are games which i bought from bundles and would never touch them. I dont see how is that related to the topic or you just wrote all that bs which i tl;dr cause it doesnt even a swer my question. Why do you type soemthing so long when it doesnt even make any sense nor gives any answer. Also i think its my choice what i play and what not. Yes i blame gabe and the devs for liftinf up the limits and forcing me to play games i do not like. Next time try use ur brain first before typing an essay which doesnt make any sense. Thanks for reading.

Yes, it's your choice if you just hoard games with no purpose. You aren't forced to hoard games with cards and idle them. And it wasn't me who started a whole tread complaining about not being able to milk hoarded games for cards, so I think in saltiness we are at a tie at least.
And it is the publishers' choice to make card leeching a lot more tedious for those who hoard things without even trying the product. People like you, who just hoard for idling, don't like it. And they may lose a few thousand buyers when the card leechers stop hoarding out of spite. This will only make their ratio of inactive users a lot smaller, so apart from you, it's actually a quite beneficial solution for all concerned. Welcome to a somewhat rational business world.

yeah, that's definitely not correct.. something's wrong there.

Steam games don't drop cards, unless they are played for 2 hours.
After 2 hours, they drop cards at the normal rate. If they drop at your rate (10 hours 3 cards), then it means the drop rate is slower than normal.
When does the drop rate become slower? When you are running Idle Master, or running multiple games at once.
You need to idle multiple games until the 2 hour mark. After that, they are idled INDIVIDUALLY to ensure normal drop rate.

I like the trading cards myself, but I like to earn them and then trade for the remainders. It also gives me an small incentive to play/try out games that I received in a bundle but not 100% sure I will like or enjoy playing.
