Same developer as TERA... What did people expect?

I would too, all the dumb twitch players and kids that obsess over things like CSGO skins deserve to be separated from their money. Arks early access expansion was way dumber imo

That's so bad even witcher developers did this when they at first time all their dlcs will be for free

Link please, as articles I found only say that they promised 16 free DLC

Yeah at least they didn't talk about paid dlcs so people thought there will only be free dlcs

Do full expansions now count as that kind of dlcs? Isn't that rather how people always demand for new content to be?

DLC =/= expansion, they communicated it very clearly that the expansions won't be free.

Lying to your customers about microtransactions worked so well for Payday 2 already. Let's see how far the game overall review will drop for this one.

I may be wrong but hasn't it had micro-transactions for a while since you can buy points/coins to get more crates?

What a surprise ... another one of those royal arena things shtting on what they originally said they will be and just went for more money insted .

Such a biased thread. I have no problem with micro-transactions for cosmetics. And I have no problem with the devs temporarily going back on their "word" to test and raise funds for this Gamescom Invitational. I'd rather they not spend money set aside for developing the game on optional stuff like Gamescom.

I just stopped complaining about this kind of things after my friends told me "is his product and they can make whatever they want".

PlayerUnknown seems like a shit online game. You shouldn't have bought it in the first place, damn are people fucking stupid and deserve to be ripped of their money any ways possible.

Just a heads up, Playerunknown has said from the very beginning there would be microtransactions in PUBG (cosmetics only).
The debate here is over him releasing them in Early Access, which he had said he wouldn't do.

Yeah I don't really have an issue with them being released in EA, since they were going to be released anyway, and it's not like he's releasing a whole slew - it's only a handful for now.

Now if he'd said he was never adding microtransactions and then added them, I might feel differently - but even then, I wouldn't care too much, especially when they're only cosmetic. Streamers and viewers have been clamoring for more "unique" customizations since the game hit the store, everything from sunglasses and streamer shirts to clown shoes and tutus.

promises are worthless when it comes to profit, as that is at what companies aim primarily. they will fund that event and "check the ground" and see how their community will react to this decision. based on the demand of the consumers they will build their own little market. nothing to be surprised for.

I speculate PUBG developers' biggest defense is the game is still in Early Access and that every Early Access game has this warning:

Note: This Early Access game is not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development.

I am not to defend the game for I do not have any interest nor concern how the game will end up in the future. I want to point out the developers might use Early Access as their reasoning for contradicting what they stated in their game's FAQ.

I don't mind for now. Known titles with huge reps have similar system such as avatars and skins.
We should see if they go further and become evil though.

What if they make the system like CS:GO? Does that counts as microtransactions?

also I don't really mind cosmetics if it'll allow bringing more updates and content to all players.

Who cares, I bought the game for 22€ on gmg, totally worth it, even in its current state the game is funny.

They are experimenting with micro-transactions, without keeping the gains, wow such drama...
They are not "wasting time", the steam-items feature was already in the game, I really can't see the problem.
