Ironic that so many people defend this micro-transaction so vehemently when it is in a game that is popular and trendy, but when Deus Ex 4 introduced micro-transactions to its single-player content which gave no benefit apart from easier single-player content, everybody was tripping over each other to shit on it, because it was trendy to shit on Square Enix and DX4 after its pre-order fiasco. Even though both are a system which gains zero advantage in the multiplayer PvP aspects of the games.

Micro-transactions are one of the best way in the long run as long as they won't be p2w.
Don't forget they have to pay big amount of money for servers & dev teams, their game won't be top selling forever :)

For the publisher, yes, it is the second best method to squeeze out the highest amount of money from a single purchaser for one product. The only more expensive one is the subscription model.

This should serve as a lesson to never trust people whose name is written in full caps.

A bit off topic: I didn't care when Killing Floor 2 started this. I just played the game on the first free trial. In fact the cosmetics were a good thing for me cause I was able to sell a free item and buy a decent game on sale with that. Idk how PUGB items could work but If they implement the same system as in TF2 and CS-GO It could be a mess. I just know that admins and devs take the rules of the game seriously. The issue is when they dont keep their word, just like in Payday 2. It was a big fuss at the time. I understand gamers like to keep It clean. But If the cow gives a lot of milk, they're gonna milk the cow a bit further.

Will this MT's deal become an standard for popular games? Or is It already an standard?

For the record I don't feel KF2 is near as good as the first one. And I will only buy It until the game has a better price and let modders create amazing content. They're still holding the mod community afaik.

The gamescom crates are currently selling for ~3€ on the steam market. If the prices are stable for a bit longer I'll be at least able to make enough money of them to effectively having gotten the game for free. I can live with a system like that

You can add another false claim:

We don't expect Early Access to last longer than six months.

And when the six months suddenly started to become something on the horizon, immediately:

So, we have decided that we are going push the full launch back a bit from the initial six-month timeframe

There is no actual launch date now.

Agreed, if you say "this is definitely not happening" then it happens your credibility will take a nosedive in my opinion regardless of the rights or wrongs of microtransactions.

Regarding the majority of their player base, it really isn't that much of a surprise :P.

Whoever is going to response with "It's only cosmetics, why do you care?" -> You are the reason Dev's can fuck consumers over.

No, you are the reason developers can fuck consumers over.
You bought the game (even after complaining about it).

Dev's dinner is on you tonight.

People like that are also the reason why early access is so poorly regarded. No doubt this dev will abandon the game and start a new one once sales die off but well before it's complete.

That may happen, but it's not my concern.
They don't have any of my money. shrug

Same, I don't understand at all how broken buggy games like this keep getting so popular.

Anyways, i didn't buy the game AFTER complaining.

You complained when your friends bought it.
You complained when you played it via Family Sharing.
You complained it was in Early Access.

You're complaining now.

Really, when didn't you complain is the more apt question here.

Whats up with you and Mully lately?

Not a damned thing. I'm just speaking my mind, same as always. Stop assuming Mully and I always agree. We most definitely don't, and she will tell you the same.

In my honest opinion noone who does not own a game should have a valid opinion regarding anything that happens to the game.

That's a terribly convenient way to dismiss just about every opinion in this thread in favor of your own. And really? Comparing a racist issue to in-game cosmetic micro-transactions? Come on ...
