I've tried it a long time ago, I couldn't stand it, it was like a left 4 dead rip-off

From what i watched, it is hard to enjoy without friends (maybe a little with hordes) since almost all you do is "Go there -> Activate something -> Start firing"

It has L4D2 formula: 4 player vs hordes of zombies, but with third-person view and a grinding system, which im not a fan of :v
But its still pretty good to play with friend imo

I didn't even find any fun playing with friends, it's just really badly designed. Time would be better spent just replaying L4D again.

Im enjoying verminetine 2 so I guess I'll just stick to that

Yeah, Vermintide 2 is fantastic. They took the L4D concept and evolved it into something that feels new. Unlike World War Z, that at best manages to feel like a "direct-to-video" version of L4D.

They are also currently giving away Figment and Tormentor X Punisher (on Epic, not Steam). This thread tracks the games Epic gives away, but it hasn't been updated yet.

wtf is it really epic? Incredible is this happening? Many of us bought the game some time ago, so what happened? Should EPIC at least give the option of those who bought it to obtain any of the DLC if not several for the cost of the price we bought it, this is a scam

How come you aren't scammed when a game you bought goes free after a month or more on steam?

i bought payday 2 on steam and it went free months after !!!! the scammy basterds. I bought evolve on steam ...... it went free then closed .... steam took my money and ran :(

It's not a scam at all. When you buy a game you never know if it's going to be free. It has happened before with Payday 2 and TF2. Just deal with it.

Many thanks for making a separate thread for this one.

Most of the recent stuff they've been giving out has been bundled before, so I likely wouldn't have bothered to check and see if there was something I wanted to grab like this and no idea if I would've caught the announcement elsewhere since only just now hearing about it now.

Hmmmm... my GTX970 is struggling with Odyssey since I upgraded to a higher resolution screen. I think I should check out the possibility to play on GFN. Lets now hope that UBI isn't one of the retarded publishers

Edit: They are not. Works excellently. Although it seems we're limited to 1080p which for some odd reason looks terrible on my new 1440 screen.

I'm honestly surprised how well it played. Not that it's a demanding title in that regard but still. Now I just need to figure out this resolution scaling thing and why it makes everything look like crap but that's unrelated to GFN

As someone who thought L4D was always an overrated game, I actually like this one. Blowing up mounds of zombies climbing up a wall or mowing them down as 100s climb over a bus with a mounted machine gun is pretty damn satisfying.

I've played through the campaigns with a couple of friends and that was actually pretty fun, but now none of us are willing to spend any more time on it. So I suppose it's pretty decent for a while, at least. And hey, it was free :)

Damn, I'm trying to find the game on Steam to give me an idea of what it is but apparently it's one of the exclusive deals. Just goes to show how superior Steam is when it comes actually evaluating a game though.

Yeah, it seems like a middling game at best. I was looking for the Steam page since it usually has the most relevant information congregated which makes it easy and quick figure out if it's of any interest

Yes. S/He feigned ignorance in order to make a stupid point.

I find the lack of reviews on EGS to be off-putting as well. Having news, reviews, updates, etc on the store page is one thing that makes Steam attractive. Also, for multi-player games, seeing how many players are currently playing is also very helpful.

I think I see the problem lol.

It would be kind of odd if you didn't since I specifically pointed it out.

Edit: Well in hindsight, after reading other comments, it seems I may have overestimated your ability somewhat...

You're making no sense. What did I overestimate? Why would I feign ignorance and where is the indignation?

You have no one but yourself to blame for wasting time

Yes, it's a Left 4 Dead clone, but it's a Left 4 Dead clone on steroids.
I had a lot of fun with it, and don't regret purchasing it during the Holiday Sale. I highly recommend picking it up and giving it a go.

It's a pretty fun game (with friends) and it runs surprisingly well on my PC, it's absolutely worth picking up for free.
