Red Alert is a "klyukva". CoH 2 is a piece of anti-Soviet propaganda.

Klyukva, cranberry - a term to describe a stereotypical depiction of Russia and Soviet Union.

Ah, okay. Thank you. Still, Red Alert stereotypes everyone. Don't think that's a bad thing. Even in the first game, it was played for, successfully, for cheese.

I didn't say Red Alert was bad, it is quite popular in Russia BECAUSE of its over-the-top steretyping and humor. CoH 2, on the other hand, was positioned like a historically accurate game that takes itself very seriously, all the while having as much realism and historical accuracy as the Red Alert series.

Joseph Stalin's Great Purge of 1937, reducing the army's morale and efficiency shortly before the outbreak of the fighting.[28] With more than 30,000 of its army officers executed or imprisoned, including most of those of the highest ranks, the Red Army in 1939 had many inexperienced senior and mid-level officers.

I think "Potato" should be taken as a stereotypical term for Russia. Guess why.

From the point of view of a Chinese, my feeling is that COH2 wants to say Russian peopleˊs lives were not cheap.

And basically it is USSR, not Russia. USSR was a failure and is already dead. USSR is the very reason why Russia people nowadays are still damn poor.
