I get added 5 times a day by multiple accounts which are steamlvl 0 having exactly 1 game and always with anime profile pictures.

When you add them they instantly reply with:

"Hello!"

and 2 seconds later they write an text about 50 words. Fuc king scam bots.

The sense is always the same, he wants to trade with you but he cant, so you should add him on his "mainaccount" aaaaaaaand the scamlink comes in.

I bet this entire scam invasion is the work of 1 guy.

Anyone made the same experience?

I have to admit I feel a bit pissed, those invites are making me sick since I already have ignored and banlisted 20 of them but they wont stop adding me.

Kind regards.

I got added by 2 accounts just like you described, one of them sent me a scam link, the other one removed me a few seconds after accepting and went offline, he knew what was coming so he didn't bother me i guess.

You probably have a trading ad post somewhere that they scan. Just block them and avoid clicking on their fake link.

Today i had this week's first friend request by a scammer.

Exactly as the OP said he was lvl 1, had 1 game in the account and had an anime as his prof image.
He gave me his "main account" link asking me to add him because he couldn't add me. He said he wanted to trade. His whole text came in 4 lines including the "Hello" and was finished in 15 secs (i counted the secs).

Of course when i replied back in the chat i received no reply even if i waited for half an hour. He has been reported and of course i have not clicked the link he gave me, or better say it gave me as i was talking to a bot.

Anyway, if anyone wish to know his name to add him in his blocked users, comment on my profile page.

is it accounts with only that east india trading game or w/e? I've been getting loads of requests like that from a few different accounts, and I dont post on any trading/lounge sites. I do play cs:go though so I guess thats where they're finding people.

Just block them right off the bat once you see they have nothing/no friends or groups in common though, dont even bother accepting.

It's funny because I have a topic in ST and I haven't found any of those friendly scammers bots.
I believe they are coming from tf2outpost or some other trading website(keep in mind this is all speculation, I don't know for sure).

Same to me, 3-4 random invites at day. And like another user said a lot of them with East India as their only game. Idk what's going on but the last 2-3 weeks everyday the same...
I would like to know where they get the accounts to add, since there is people getting a shit ton of them and some don't get a single invite from this bots. I'm no trader and it's been months since I played TF2 (barely played any of it anyway).
Probably CS:GO related?

I am a frequent trader, played quite some tf2 in the last month and I didn't play cs:go for a while. I got invited by a phishbot once. I accepted and the bot never went online again.

OMG! Do we really need a new thread, when somebody gets added by a scammer bot? Get it over with! There always be people, who try to get things the illegal way. Aren't you tired that if you come up, you see at least 2 threads. Yeah I got added a few of them ,but I didn't made a thread about it, because why? It's not a heroic achievement, that you could spot a phishing link. People should use the search button to see, how many threads have been made already.

better put those on

I am, and everyone who uses steam since years is familiar with scam bots, but this ASSAULT on my account scared me, and I wanted to have opinions. God...

What opinions? If you chat in Steam, and won't click any links, they can't hurt you. It's like spam. Once they find out about your acc, they will keep coming. If I receive a random invite, I accept it. It happened to me, that I was given a key for a game, which I wanted to get, and he wanted nothing for it! If you encounter a scam bot, unfriend, block and report it. It's not just your problem. I am using Steam for a long time too (5 years), and once I got my account phished. I wrote to the support and got it back in 3 days. I just can't understand why everybody makes a thread, when something like that happens. When they tried to phish account info with a picture looking link, that thread was helpful. These are just tiring, like the " I can't find Warlock in the GA list". You open it and BOOM a GA. At first it was funny, now it's not.

Vapor Dosh: Are you going to link me steamcormunminnnithsiuahiuhity.com or something?
bot: Add him to talk steamcommuniuty.com/id/76561198091731842/ good offer

Oh you encountered a human phisher! You should have told him this: I don't feel safe about the link, but if you trade some of your items with me, I will add him. You could get some items, and just unfriend him :D

I still think it was a bot, considering it completely ignored my question and didn't add anything before I blocked it.

I've been spammed from those bots for over a month already. It's easy to find who tries to scam, the bots always have atleast 1 game and 1 friend that play CS:GO most of the time. I report the friend, not the bot.

Stop making these threads, we get multiple of these every week. This has been going on since the winter sale.

Also, this is not a scamming bot, it's a phisher bot. He sends you a fake link of steam where you have to "log in". After that he can simply "phish" your account because you took the bait. People really need to see the difference between the words...

I'm still mad about how that scam bot that added me a week ago didn't say anything. Talk about disrespectful- it took them so long to try to scam me and they send the broken bot. Sad face. :'(

Tons of them always add me... just report to steam for phising link and copy paste the chat... and of course block and delete... :) Be careful if you are trader too because everytime you get a new impersonator after a ton of scam bots...
