I don't think it's got physical cards like pokemon but it does have Digimon Digital Card Battle which is a digimon card videogame for playstation 1. If you like CCG's and digimons I would definitely recommend playing it.

Old pokemon games were great. New pokemon games are brain meltingly easy. In BW, they literally handed you EVERYTHING you needed on a silver platter. You couldn't take 3 steps without an unskippable event shoving free items down your throat. I NEVER bought items in that game. Free items were the new zubat in BW. XY was a bit better, but still so easy a caveman could do it.
At one point in XY, I unwittingly TRIED to lose. Got to the town with that huge crystal. Had my main delphox, fainted venusaur, 2 hm slaves, and 2 low levels I was trying to evolve. Made a B line for the pokemon center. Guess what. They put the trigger for a rival battle in front of the pokemon center. Well my 2 hm slaves and 2 babies got rekt. My delphox knew 2 fire moves and 2 psychic moves. My rival's overratinja was water/dark. Immune to psychic, resistant to fire. First pokemon out. My delphox, at half health, beat all of my rivals pokemon. Which shouldn't be that surprising, considering you get 10x the exp you should get. No grinding on wild pokemon, ONLY fighting trainer battles, you end up 20-30 levels above everyone. It's disgusting how they're catering to the mentally handicapped when they make games now.

Yellow was kind of neat with pikachu, but so slow. Having to open the inventory every time you wanted to use the bike SUCKED. My favorites were probably GSC for registering items to the select button, the pokemon, and getting TWO regions. RS was good for the running shoes and better graphics. DP was a letdown, and I already went over BW and XY.
Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh (and Almia) are all based in japan (Unova is new york, and kalos is france). I wish they would make a super game with all 4 japanese regions connected like they did in GSC.

Digimon. It's my childhood, basically. Probably also the anime that introduced me to anime in general and I love it, I'm looking forward to Tri.
I really want the 3DS game to be localized here... But don't get me wrong, I love Pokemon as well, just not the anime.
I didn't really play the card games though, so nothing to say to that topic.

Some kid jumped from a tall building screaming " Pikachuuuu~ " and it cause Pokémon to cancel in my country. That's how we got Digimon so most people don't like Digimon in my country since they served it to us like a replacement of Pokémon that we loved.

Pokemon definitely has better games, but the cartoons were average imo.
The first few Digimon cartoons were AWESOME but after that I can't really see many good Digimon products especially cartoon/games.

the only reason i liked digimon more than pokemon is because they actually can die rather than pokemon who only faint
also most of pokemon episodes are the same thing again and again:
take a walk-> team rocket shows up-> they catch pikachu-> ash saves pikachu-> pikachu hits team rocket with a bolt and they fly to the sky-> repeat

The games are the same way. Beat a few gyms>beat random bad guys who had nothing to do with the story until 75% of the way through the game>beat elite 4.

Pokemon 1-3 games were good. Gen 5 was horrible and disgusting. It basically turned you into ash (see below). You don't have to work for a single thing. The story? What story. Beat gyms, beat random group of bad guys that aren't even worth being called a side quest, beat elite 4 with your eyes closed.
In digimon, the story is actually different in each game, and you have to work to unlock shit. It's an actual rpg, unlike the visual novel of pokemon gen 5.
The pokemon card game is okay. Card games are lame as hell, and not fun. But pokemon is probably the best card game aside from CaH.
The digimon card game was kind of convoluted. 3 types that played rock paper scissors to decide damage. A bit more fair than pokemon, because drawing a weak card doesn't necessarily mean auto-lose.
Ash is a panzy ass bitch and the most feminine character in the show. He doesn't earn a damn thing, everything is given to him for free. Pokemon can't talk, and we're just supposed to go with this uneducated twink has fucking telepathy after a level 1 bitch of a pokemon fucks him up. He doesn't even care about anything. His friends? Fuck em, get new ones. His pokemon? Fuck em, get new ones (aside from pikachu, who magically drops to level 1 every new season). The hat he sent 1,000,000 postcards to get and almost died to get it back? Fuck it, get a new one.
In digimon, they're fighting for their fucking lives at all times.

Video Games: Digimon!
While I did like Pokemon games they were too easy and story-wise not very interesting. Not to mention you couldn't get all pokemons unless you did trades with other people and what not.
Digimon games were more interesting story-wise and while they weren't really hard they were not as easy as pokemon games.
Digimon World 3 was simply a great RPG, one that I really enjoyed. Digimon Digital Card Battle was also a pretty good game.
Anime Digimon!
Now do note that I didn't watch all seasons of either of those, I only watched some on TV when I was a kid. For me Digimon's world was more interesting, the whole anime felt more mature too and was less predictable.

I got digimon world 3 on emulator, but the rom glitched and I couldn't do the post game quest :(
The original digimon world was really hard. Like digimon had a maximum lifespan of 10 days, but it took 12-14 days for them to digivolve into ultimate, which was required for later parts of the game. Not to mention most of the fights were luck. Either train your digimon to obey you and it dies before you can do anything, or skip obedience training to make progress, and pray that it attacks instead of sits there.
