I mostly choose the left path in games and that usually leads to the ultimate destination of the quest, but makes you leave usefull stuff behind (which can be found along the right path) :D

I am a right-handed person, but I somehow often choose the left path and often hate myself later for that choice because somehow that path is usually the one you have to go to reach your destination, but the other path often hides secrets and cool stuff which you may overlook if you go straight to the end and this is an issue for me because I am a person who wants to find all the good stuff in the game, not necessarily to reach all the achievements, but cool useful items that could be seen as some sort of bonus in the game you know?
For example original Dead Island games had some cool secret hidden items which worked as a standard blueprint for crafting a weapon BUT weapons crafted with these bonus blueprints had better stats and better features than common blueprints you can find in the game.
Sometimes it makes difference when you are outnumbered by zombies and you pull your ace out of your sleeve and kill them with a special weapon which is stronger than regular weapons. It's something you couldn't normally do without finding that secret blueprint (which isn't exactly easy to do) and learning it. Well this is an example of the kind of items I like to find, but it's obviously not that kind of item you usually find as a common loot in a game where your only real option is to follow the single path, but you get the idea, I simply like to find all the loot and use the best one to my advantage.
Funny thing in following the single path in games is that after I get mad that I'm somehow always right about which way to go to find the exit, every freaking time when I decide to purposely screw up my usual routine just for sake of better adventure feeling and I decide to not follow my usual choice and choose the other side instead hoping to find the loot first and then leave, that choice always seems to be a rare exception when the exit is actually on the other side and I still find it (and miss the good stuff found on the other path that I did not follow). -_-
Then I get mad because I just know that the good stuff is right there on the other side and if I leave now I will not get it, so naturally I can't resist and always go back for loot and then leave, this takes a lot of extra time and it feels like if I was cursed, can't help it.
