I like the idea, although I gotta admit that choosing a door only based on a choice of two is very random. If a horror scenario would call for such a decision there are other variables that come into play. Seeing the house from outside, getting a rough estimate of the floor plan. Seeing some of the rooms inside, for the floor plan again. Where has the murder been spottet last, noises etc.
Although while writing this... Yeah, you might get chased and the architecture can be confusing enough so one door leads to a dead end and one to a new floor. Well... Chose the right door 'cause I'm following some friends. :P
Kudos!

I think I joined the right group, which is left by the way.

Hmmm, right is wrong, or right is never wrong? Right might be a fright or a beautiful sight. Don't want to get left behind, gotta pick the right one.
Arrrrgh, I dunno!

left... no right... no maybe.... Oh I just don't know... closes eyes and turns around a couple of times.... I guess right it is!

Ah! horror movies :) Even if I watch a lot of horror them and I am used to just how stupid the characters can be, it is part of the fun plenty of times, however, there was one that I watched this Halloween that made roll my eyes multiple times...damn I forgot the name lol. Characters kept getting chased but they never closed the doors, the one time one did, I felt like giving them a standing ovation :)

Are the giveaways for the groups going to be level 3+ too? If so, I won't be able to join in on the fun as I'm just a lowly level 1.

Hmmm. Maybe you're right. I'm really not sure what to do now.

Except this is about splitting up which is inevitable and it is said that both groups will get giveaways, but one group will get better giveaways than the other, or at least that's how I understood the concept. If it was the way you're describing, well that would ruin the whole concept.

It's really not inevitable, though. All you have to do is not pick either group.
You're understanding the concept as it's described in the first post, but the same post also makes it pretty clear that splitting up is "the worst decision the characters could take". So I've decided that I'm not splitting up.

I get what you mean, but in the same time splitting up is actually the only option given in the post that lets the OP know that you are actually playing along. You either choose left or right door and that's it. If you don't choose any door, how will OP know who are actually the "characters" playing this little game? Say he will create a third group, but what happens next? Will he just let anyone join without checking whether that person was even here in time to play this little game or not?
You say your choice is to not split up, but how is OP supposed to know that your decision was actually to not split up and it wasn't that you wasn't even there when he created this thread and you just want to join when the third group is created? He has no way to find out.
If it's the way you say, he might as well simply create a single group and let anyone join it freely, that would be the same thing in the end, but he chose to create two different groups to actually let the "characters" gather in each of them which also works as a list for him to know who is actually playing this little game.
Admittedly he might also decide that death awaits behind each door and we all will die in the end meaning that nobody who chose any of the doors can join the third group. While that would also make little sense, in the same time it would be stupid, because it would mean that anyone could freely join even people who did not see this thread in the time frame (before the end of that giveaway) and those who went through any of the doors (who actually were here in time and played along) would be punished, that's kinda...
