Haha... I'm also a web developer. My kids have fidget spinners and honestly sometimes when I'm trying to solve a problem I'll pick up one of them and spin it and it does actually help. Like giving my hands something else to do, gives my brain a bit more focus. Otherwise I'd chew my fingers... so I guess this is healthier.

They were originally supposed to be a focusing assist, sorta like how a 'fidget cube' lets people occupy a hand. Pretty sure they were designed to help with some kind of attention deficit disorder. The best way to understand the compulsion and how satisfying it can help you focus, is sorta like when you've been sat down for a while and you might get the urge to bounce one of your legs slightly, or perhaps as a lesser example it's sorta like when you tap your feet to music. It can help channel nervous fidget-like energy so that you aren't tempted to mentally disengage and daydream, I think?

That makes much more sense then the original idea i had tbh :p

That's the whole idea, but it hasn't been thoroughly proven cientifically. The majority of the studies show zero or insignificant benefits for people with attention disorder.

And even if there was any benefit to it, the fact it turned into an annoying fad certainly doesn't help, haha.

Well I don't have any such disorder, but while at work doing repetitive tasks, I find it does help me focus if I can vent my urge to fidget in a less distracting manner. The urge to fidget quickly manifests as an urge to glance away from the monitor screen otherwise, and my only other go-to distraction is to bite my nails, and they usually end up pretty sore, haha.

Maybe that needs to be a thing. A little device you can gnaw on like an idiot, so that your fingers aren't wittled down like abused pencil erasers. >:3

Well, you could have at least said that it was for a lv 2 giveaway. That way I wouldn't have even bothered to solve it. That's why I was asking.

Also, would have been nice to know that there are some very specific sgtools requirements to enter.

Minimum Real CV (Sent): 31 seems pretty random. How/why should I be responsible for the minimum bundle value of the games I give away?

$31 CV === Level 2 on this site, nothing extreme

My daughter has one, it's all the rage at her school. It's not so much about the intended purpose anymore, it's just the in thing now, with different colours and features (glow in the dark, multicoloured, LEDs, even ones with speakers in 'em).

In fact, her school's just banned them. Won't be long before the craze ends I guess.

That third spinner is pretty nice.

As usual with your threads, the mood music is the highlight - I don't normally run across a lot of music in French. This song is pretty good, very upbeat and also kind of offbeat.

  • Avoid using link shorteners, as they obscure the destination of the link, making it difficult for users to know what they're clicking.

Solved in 2:27, but already own the game.
Thanks anyway!

Also: on the spinners, I'm still thinking whether I want one, since I do loike to fidget around with something in my hands.
But I'm not sure where to leave it. Maybe I'd rather have something on me that I can disassemble and re-assemble.

one thing i use sometimes is this...:

Buddhist prayer beads
Buddhist Chain - Google Pic Search

not for disassemble and re-assemble, but more effective than spinner and cubes imo...
