I still participate in them but i am getting tired and frustrated because ive been participating for quite a long time and i have never won a single thing (game, cellphone, software) through these. Are they for real or i'm just unlucky?

I'm thinking about just sticking to steamgifts, gamehag and reddit groups

Are there any other sites i should know of where the chances of getting games are better than gleam raffles?

Well, have you ever tried Steamgift? They say it's a pretty good website...

lol, haven't been lucky on sg as well, just get the random ost that i already have on my library. those are my wins.

i'm almost level 5 and the games ive given away can't compare to what i've received so far. but i like the community so that's a plus.

Have you tried puzzle GAs yet? These GAs only have a super small amount of people will solve/join. But you really have to spend your time and grind on them. Comparing to the winrate of public GAs, they are relatively high though.

And some of them are also quite fun! :)

I don't think there's anything fraudulent about those raffles but you are so unlikely to win anything because of the number of entries. It's a waste of time.

I have won Total War: Warhammer via one of Gleam raffles. But that was only once when I was lucky with this.

I'm a voracious comper (since I'm sick, unemployed and can't do much else) and the contests you see for big prizes can have over 25k entries. You don't win because there's a lot of entries. Some people enter constantly and still don't win, it's like the lottery, it's a small chance. For example, a popular beauty twitter account that runs daily comps, I retweet every contest for two years and have won twice. Odds are odds, but you can always get lucky.

The best thing to do is use a contest site (I use contestgirl), and enter contests regularly. But then you're sinking a lot of time for the chance at a prize, so it's really up to you. I'm in QC, which means many contests I'm not eligible for. Local contests always have a better chance. Here's some of the prizes I won over a like a 5 year period (2 of which is contesting seriously).

Dyson handheld Vacuum, Avengers print from Sideshow collectibles, Clarins Makeup set, set of Lighthouse salad dressing, Lancome macaron blush, Budweiser Mini-cooler, Cooler containing BBQ spices, free coupons for Lesters products and a portable Bluetooth speaker, 10$ Pharmaprix gift card, PURIFACE SHEET MASK 1 month supply, $40 of Dairy Queen Coupons (Ten dollars at a time, multiple wins on a daily comp), Petro Canada Prize Pack of Olympic themed pins, Samsung Galaxy Mini Tablet and a Cheesy Wizard Bag from Cheesestrings ,Spyro Funko Pop, Tea prize pack from Not so Gentle Tea Co.

So you're far more likely to win a small prize, but overall the effort isn't worth it for most people. Just enter for the chance if it's something you want and forget it afterwards.

If anyone has any questions about comping, please feel free to ask me.

Any knobhead can put up a gleam giveaway, so whether they are for real or not depends entirely on what you've been entering. If you enter giveaways where well known figures on youtube give away reasonably prized things as promotions for hitting subscriber milestones for instance then you are very likely entering a good give away and will get the thing if you win... but that's a big if. Odds of winning a random game here on steamgifts used to be around 1/2000, which meant you had to enter roughly 2000 giveaways to win one. If you check the odds on a triple A game giveaway though that's more like 1/10000 at least, which means you have to enter 10000 of them to win one.

So then you check the gleam giveaways and realize that those 200000 entries to get a fancy phone for free given away by some small foreign blog you've never heard of is 1) maybe not real and 2) you'll have to enter 200000 of them for each time you win.

So are they worth entering? Of course, if you want the thing and you trust the person running it to not misuse your personal information. Don't put a lot of effort into it though, and if you win you got very lucky, and if you don't - just another few hundred thousand ones to enter before you probably do.

(Note that this post implies you are guaranteed a win if you enter 10K high quality giveaways, this is not the case. Probability is complicated but the chance of winning is only 100% if you enter a giveaway with less entries than winners. If you enter random giveaways for 200 years there's still not a 100% you win, but it's very very very close to it... When I say you have to enter 2000 or 10000 to win I mean you'll on average over an infinite amount of giveaways entered of that type, win one game for every 2K or 10K you've entered, depending on the type. Likewise you can win your first gleam giveaway as likely as your last even if it's 200K entries, but with infinite entries you'll win roughly once every 200K times.... which is silly, don't bother spending time looking for these giveaways, you'd be better off spending the time picking up cans for recycling and you'd have the prize long before you would win it. But sure enter if you stumble on one from your favorite youtuber or something, and hopefully they have less entries.)

(Note also that the actual number will be the average of the chance of every giveaway you enter, 2K and 10K are simplifications to make the point)

Yes, they are. I won a Hat in Time and headphones from Gleam! If you want a game, giftcard, or other prize, you will eventually win.

Also, try entering giveaways with lower entry count or shorter time duration like 1 week or less.

Almost all the gleam raffles/giveaways are fake, created to farm followers on different social platforms and other websites, or to farm clicks etc.

I generally skip all giveaways and raffles that need me to use twitter, facebook, etc. So I can't tell you if it's worth it, I just can say it's not worth it to me XD
