Contributor Value and Levels
What is contributor value?
Contributor value is a number that estimates the value of your giveaways within our community. When you give away a game, and the winner marks your gift as "Received", the value of the game is added to your contributor value. If your giveaway was assigned "No Value", or "Reduced Value", the value of the game would be adjusted prior to being added. There are also two other factors that may influence the value of your giveaway.
After you give away a game 5 times (whether in the same giveaway, or in multiple giveaways), it will begin decreasing in value. The value is decreased by 10% for each additional copy. This means if you decide to give away 8 copies of a $10 game, it would add $74.39 (10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 9 + 8.10 + 7.29) to your contributor value. This has little effect on the majority of users, but prevents individuals from receiving a high contributor value from gifting a large number of promotional gifts, games obtained through pricing errors, or keys from contacting game developers.
If a giveaway is invite only, region restricted, or limited to a whitelist or Steam group, it will only add contributor value if it receives 5 or more entries. This is in place to prevent small groups of friends from attempting to cheat the contributor system, and to encourage users to expand the reach of their giveaways. The whitelist feature offers an easy way to target a larger audience, and you can combine it with small Steam groups to receive a greater number of giveaway entries if needed.
If you hover over the "Gifts Sent" dollar value on your profile, you'll see your contributor value after all of the above adjustments have taken place. You might also notice that games valued over $50.00 will only require 50 points to enter. However, their full price will be used when calculating contributor values.

I didn't take the time to write all that, i just copy-pasted from the FAQ section. :P
You should spend some time reading it and also Guidelines since most of your questions will be answered that way. ;)
Have a nice day! ^^

But really, reading the FAQ and Guidelines can help you avoid a lot of pitfalls (for example, the nuanced guidelines wherein attempting to solicit trades or posting advertising on the forums can get you a temporary suspension, but you're nevertheless allowed freely allowed to insert certain types of advertisements within giveaway descriptions or the Group Recruitment forum).
Note also that the list of potential suspension reasons is posted at the bottom of the page here and, if you're still up for further reading, the announcements forum has some useful information, such as how to apply customized giveaway search filters.
Community responses will be more favorable if it looks as though you've put in some effort of your own (excluding, of course, responses from users who are habitually negative in conduct); More notably, knowing the basics of how something works can help you better figure out what questions you still need answered.

Problem is, I did read the guidelines when I joined. More than once.
It wasn't clear that the number of copies doesn't effect the minimum entries for CV.
It doesn't make much sense that you can still get CV if the giveaway got more copies than entries.

If I made a Giveaway, it needs to get 5 entries or higher so I can get my CV.
You need only 5 entries on non-public giveaways (whitelist, group, private, region-restricted)
What if the giveaway got 2 copies?
What if it got more than 5 copies?
You only need 5 entries, regardless of amount of copies.
What if I made a 10 copies giveaway but it only got 6 entries?
You will get your CV for 6 copies!
EDIT: Keep in mind: You get your CV the moment the winner(s) mark their win as received.

as far as 6 wins for 10 copies, you will need to file a support ticket to clean up the unclaimables
what you mean?
you can just see which keys were activated and use the other keys elsewhere
no need for support to do anything

One would think that the unclaimed copies would be treated like any other unentered giveaway. I've never heard otherwise, but then again, I've never asked that question.

Ok, I never thought about that, as I always had enough slots.
But if you really need the slots it’s probably easier to just ask for more slots than to change anything in the ga

Wow, actually responded to the questions asked rather than pointing out the FAQ without a second thought?
What are you, a saint?
