So I won in this certain GA --> http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/kigJQ/alan-wakes-american-nightmare

The key was sent to me through mail. I'm from Philippines. Does this mean it's region locked, and what should I do? Thanks.

EDIT: RagersReplacement gave me an Alan Wake Franchise Pack though he doesn't even know me at all. This just shows that SG is a great community despite of the trolls and the fake giveaways. This certain act of kindness should be recognized, reciprocated, and spread throughout the community. Thanks again man! :D

Giving away region locked keys is against the SG rules.

Discuss with the gifter. If they can't supply you with a key that works in your region, they may be able to persuade Support to remove the giveaway. Failing that, you'll just have to mark it as "not received" and move on...

Actually, you can do something about it. You can do exactly what AtomixWoodchuck suggested. Talk to the creator of the giveaway and see what he or she is willing to do.

Making a giveaway involves making a promise to provide the game. Just because the key or gift that was supposed to be given away won't work doesn't mean the story is over. More than once, I myself have had to buy an additional copy (for various reasons) to fulfill the giveaway requirements. It is entirely possible that the giveaway creator is a person of integrity and will fulfill his or her promise.

If, however, that turns out to not be the case, you will mark the giveaway as "not received" and move on. There will be other opportunities to win.

I would report it as well, they intentionally made a GA with a PL region locked key.

More like they didn't think about it, as mentioned PL usually means that it contains dub/sub in polish language, not necessarily locked , but as it's from a magazine he should've expected region lock.

And you really should contact the GA giver with this problem, if by any chance something like this happened from my side (yep I'm also from Poland) I would've bought the game (or got on ST).

You're saying he can't go to the Steam store and buy a copy to give you with his own money anytime within the seven days he's given to gift you the game? That's unlikely.
