[Buy] Fanatical has some mysterious ways to convince me to buy these point & click games.
[Already Own] Meh, why did I murder my wallet by buying these from the store before?
[Skip] I don't find these games thrilling at all.

So some of them are HOG and some point and click, can't go wrong for a buck.

Same here! ;) for just 1€ it's great, I've always been in love with point and click / hog games, not a bad bundle this one too ^^

Correct. The original trilogy (FBI Confidential, Hunt for the Puppeteer and Cards of Destiny) is point-and-click, the other two are hidden object.

They are mostly casual point 'n' clicks with a dose of HOG elements.

However, forget them. Even if you are an incredibly dedicated HOG fan, the entire Art of Murder series is trash.
(Then again, it is difficult to find any game created by Lemon/City Interactive that is not total garbage.)

Thanks! As a collector of HOGs, I was tempted, but your comment ensured my (empty anyway) wallet stays closed this time.

(It really is surprisingly difficult to just stop buying games and play what I have, and to only buy what I really, really want...)

Thanks for the warning. I will wait for a better deal with better HOG/Adventure games.

Damn, I should have waited for your post before buying :)
You seem to have played almost all of them, so do you have by any chance a list (say a Top 10) of what you consider the best HOGs on Steam ?
(possibly including casual point&click, i.e. HOGs without HOG)

I'm especially interested in non-Artifex Mundi games.

I've tried navigating your reviews, but there are too many of them.

I played a lot of HOGs, but not all. Given the output of this genre since 2012, I think that is actually impossible for a single human, even as a job+hobby. I also find it difficult to really pinpoint single games. Especially since I actually loved the heck out of Vault Cracker: The Last Safe, which is at like 30% on Steam.
Plus I forgot many things since then or confuse games. These City Interactive ones just stirred some memories. Memories I had hoped to have forgotten by now.

Right now, as a series beyond Artifex Mundi, I'd say Danse Macabre managed to surprise me. A lot.
Supposedly, Cadenza is even better.
My all-time favourite HOG is Brink of Consciousness 1. It is also among the best games I played in general, regardless of genre.
A close second is probably Mystery of Unicorn Castle 2: The Beastmaster.
I personally found it too rich in backtracking, but a lot of HOG players absolutely love True Fear (the second episode is coming soon).
Maybe the Agency of Anomalies series, but it is old-school and the last episode seems to need WinXP to function (I played it on a VM).

Generally, I'd say try any random game from Elephant Games and possibly the Dark Parables series from Eipix. (They took over some other long-running series like the Mystery Case Files and the Hidden Expedition, but those games fluctuate in my opinion, just like their output in general outside those series.)
You can also try the Lost Lands or even better, the New York Mysteries series from FIVE-BN Games. The rest of their portfolio is kinda hit and miss. Mostly miss. Large miss.
Or, if you want a good laugh, hunt down Mysteryville 1-2. They are mega old-school and so incredibly bad and dumb that they are funny by today's standards.

Thanks, that's a very comprehensive list.

I've played a lot of Artifex Mundi games (my favorite is Enigmatis 2) and I need to diversify a bit.

I've added Danse Macabre and games from Elephant Games to my wishlist, the other were already on it (or in my library).

I've played Brink of Consciousness, but I must say I don't really remember anything about it.
I have played the Lost Lands games on android (thanks to amazon underground) and I really liked them.

Thanks again!

Are these as bad as the Chronicles of Mystery ones? That series has the dubious honour of being the only game I have ever, ever asked for a refund on on Steam. I also love HOGs so you really can't go wrong. Except somehow they did.

They are roughly the same. Maybe the plot in these ones are not as terrible, but they are so similar, I forgot which is which.

I like HOG and Point & Click, but neither Achievements nor Cards makes me skip in favour of other games (and, naturally, adding less backlog XD)

I was thinking of getting some of these DRM free copies of these games for a dollar each on gamersgate, but decided not to at that time. Now I can buy the entire 2 series in a bundle at a dollar a bundle. Good thing I waited.

I think that is one of those codes you can only use with you e-mail address.

"Your Bundle Blast coupon is valid until 9:00AM (PT) on October 1st 2018 and can only be used on Bundles. It gets you an additional 10% off, can be used multiple times and can only be used by this email address. It requires a minimum spend of $5/£5/€5/CAD7/AUD8/RUB400. It cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or voucher."

I remember people were saying the code didn't work on the slayer bundle exclusively but I've used my code once for the bundles I've bought. Strange that it works for some but not other people.

You may want to ask Fanatical support as to why you cant use it because it should work on any bundle as long as you spend more than the minimum amount they have recommended.
