I just got my first Lego game - LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, and it triggered an OCD reaction that I did not expect. I've never really had an issue with this, and I don't consider myself OCD, and I have played many games without worrying about achievements or collectibles, but when I started up with the Lego game, I couldn't get around it. There's something about the way the game is set up that I felt like I had to get all the coins, and destroy every last object. It really hit me when I realized that I had just destroyed an entire field of flowers, trees, park benches, etc. while people are staring at me, just so I could get every last coin. Seems a little out of character for Captain America...

Shut up, pansy!

You have killed your father, escaped death by traveling in a crate, became the advisor of a queen and now you are playing with Legos?

That was a long damn boat ride. Other than stuffing his shit through the air holes, what else was he supposed to do with his time besides play with Legos?

I did play it and I had a feeling like this but when I feel that there are a lot of achievments and how much coins there are.... I begin to ignore it.

I found that I was this way with the Lego games I played myself, so much so that I haven't actually finished any of them. I get so bogged down in getting every single collectable that I lost interest in the game and start playing other things before I finish.

in time I've learned to focus on completing the story and hunting down the Red Bricks first. Because red bricks give those lovely cheats that make the rest a lot easier. Unlock coin multiplier cheats the moment you can afford them, the rest can wait.

i have 100%ed Lego Star Wars 2. I freaking loved that game, played it with my friend and had a blast. Other Lego games didn't really caught my interest that much though, although I quite enjoyed Lego Indiana Jones 2 too.

They have exactly the same effect on me. I certainly don't have OCD, but I can't feel comfortable in those games unless I leave nothing standing.

Completion and OCD are a world apart. But yeah, the call to collect and destroy everything possible is pretty strong. Nature of the beast. And most (if not all?) of the LEGO games have some sort of rewards (Gold Bricks generally) for really digging deep.

Is your avatar a Jill of The Jungle screenshot?
God, that brings back memories of my first 486... you had to switch the Turbo button off or the game would run too fast (or maybe it was the other way around).

Yep, Jill of the Jungle was one of the first games I ever played, using Windows 95.

Congrats on your first lego game, yes I too strive to get 100% in the LEGO games too but not all of them. Enjoyed getting LEGO Marvel to 100% though (the first one I ever got to 100%).
