"I believe that a note should be added to the FAQ about the reasons why to make a giveaway and what are the benefits of it."
There are none except out of the goodness of your heart.
Also you are given the email address of the winner when the giveaway ends you can send the give via email or send it over Steam, there is no preference one way or the other.

If the key is on a piece of paper, you email the said key to the winner.
If the game is on your Steam account as a gift, you gift it to the winner; either adding him as a friend or sending the gift to his email.

Or he could add them on Steam and send them the key via chat.

You could put the piece of paper in a bottle and send him the key like that. Or you can use Skype or MSN etc. Point is you just send it to the winner using your favorite data forwarding medium if it's a key; you don't need Steam.
If it's a gift you do need Steam.

Welcome!
If it is a CD Key you have to email it to the address that the site provides you with.
If it is a steam gift(i.e. something you have in your inventory) you can only trade it with the winner. To do that you first have to add the person on steam and use the steam trade feature.

That is not true, you do not need to trade with the winner.
You can also either add the person on Steam and send the gift to your "friend", or use the "Email my gift" feature. The winner will receive an email with a link to redeem the gift.

The ultimate objective rulegiver and maker is God and you don't want to get on the bad side of him. Unless you don't believe in a personal or universal god or gods. Then you have to pray to god that the person giving the giveaway is a god believer and believes in objective morals an...wait what

Hey guy,
First of all, I would like to greet you as I am a new member of this wonderful society :)
I have a little problem and I though you might provide me with the answer. My giveaway is ending soon and I would like to ask a few questions before I proceed with the transaction. I don't want to make the giveaway winner wait after he wins, while I would be figuring out the details, that's the reason for this thread.
I have went through the FAQ and indeed, it is a great help for a new user like myself, but I found that it doesn't answer all of my questions.
I believe that a note should be added to the FAQ about the reasons why to make a giveaway and what are the benefits of it. Another and the most important thing that should be included there is the answer to this question: "how does a transaction between the giver and receiver work, after the 'lottery' is finished?"
In my particular example I have a key for a Steam game which is on a piece of paper, I don't have it on my Steam account - how should I supply it to the winner? Should I just e-mail him the key or do I have to do it somehow through Steam? I have never done that before and I don't really understand how it works.
Thank You,
Trunk89
