It's true, tested it with the win10 mail client, I don't like that so I'm completely unistalling avast and switching back to avira (overreacting? probably).
Here's a guide on how to disable it, but often doesn't work:

I don't see how that's relevant tbh :s Wouldn't bother me the slightest. I know someone who has those in their email.

I used F-Secure for a long time but had to rethink my budget so I switched to Avast. I think I used Avira in the past a long time ago.

MSE/Windows Defender FTW.

Whether the protection level good or not isn't relevant, it's the least annoying AV for me. Paired with common sense and MBAM I already feel secure.

So this only happens if you have the Mail Shield enabled/installed right? I never use that component.
